A truck driver was beaten within an inch of his life by California
Highway Patrol for not signing a traffic ticket that he could not read.
The driver, who broke no laws, was beaten so badly that he woke up in a
trauma hospital.
Olegs Kozacenko, a local resident originally from Russia, was pulled over and cited by police for allegedly driving too many hours in one day. Kozacenko refused to sign the ticket because he had not or could not read it.
CHP Officers didn't take kindly to the driver's refusal to sign. Two officers, one of them a trained fist-boxer, beat Kozacenko on the side of the highway nearly to death. He suffered a crushed left orbital eye socket, multiple facial fractures, a broken left arm, broken ribs, a concussion, loss of consciousness, and possible neurological damage. His injuries caused a deprivation of oxygen for a prolonged period of time.
Photographs taken of Kozacenko's unconscious body showed that he was in handcuff restraints. A toxicology report showed a 0.00% blood-alcohol content of the driver; perfectly clean.
"The public if they get stopped and simply comply with what they are asked to do, they have nothing to fear, nothing to fear at all," said Acting Chief Ken Hill.
Officers Andrew P. Murrill and Jim Sherman maintained that the force was not excessive. Both are still on the job a full 2 years after the incident. Olegs Kozacenko suffers long-term physical and emotional injuries and is no longer able to work.

Brother CNu:
I have a question for you and anyone else who cares to reply - through the eyes of BLACK AMEICANS.
I have heard several Black media operatives recount Attorney General Eric Holder as a "FIGHT FOR BLACK PEOPLE AND CIVIL RIGHTS".
As they subsequently make a list of "Progressive/Democratic Party talking points" on his "accomplishments - it becomes clear that they are speaking of WHAT MAKES THE AMERICAN BLACK PROGRESSIVE PLEASED - rather than bothering to make material analysis of the CONDITION OF BLACK PEOPLE and do a larger analysis of WHAT THE NEGRO HAS BOUGHT INTO as a "Black Community Development Scheme".
When you hear, for example Errol Louis of CNN / NY Daily News speaking as if Holder was on HIS TEAM - how do you explain this MENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS SHIFT in which a man who now presides over they FORCES OF OPPRESSION in the annals of "Black Civil Rights" (The FBI, The Drug Enforcement Agency, The Federal Department Of Corrections, and every 'Assistant Attorney General' around the nation where Black politicians are indicted) ------ what FORCE, what MIS-BELIEF has triggered this response?
Does the fact that THESE PEOPLE ARE "VOICES IN THE MEDIA" make it even POSSIBLE that the Rank & File Negro will be given a VIEWPOINT which demands that they retain their BLACK CONSCIOUS AUTONOMY, looking out for the BLACK COMMUNITY INTERESTS when a matter involving these ELECTED OFFICIALS and the POLITICAL FIGHTS they often have against the REPUBLICAN ENEMIES?
Are you asking for a response through a Black American lens, or, are you asserting that your point of view is the Black American POV?
Yesterday afternoon, I spent three hours at the barber shop with my son. We had a peak barber shop Socratic theatre experience. The owner is a retired air force veteran who has been all over the world, a conservative christian woman who just loves it when my son and I show up at her shop and liven things up.
So, a white cop was waiting to get his situation skin-faded. Two older black gentlemen were waiting to get lined. Furious styles was getting a preposterously elaborate piece of sculpture on his head maintained (ridiculous) Dravonte had in his gold grills and khaki cargoes sagging at mid-thigh, two cats my age were there just itching for an energetic discussion.
Things were quiet. I asked Ms. Phyllis, Ms. Phyllis, it's been a month since our last set to, what shall we catch up on first? Ferguson, Ebola, your preznit the nobel peace prize winner bombing his 7th country, where to begin? She got tickled, one of the two cats my age took the chair to get his hair cut, the other cat took the bait and went in on Ferguson sounding for all the world like Y.O.U.
Why so worried about Ferguson, we need to talk instead about black on black crime and violence, what will "our" community do about that and what's happening to "our" young men? I laughed in the bruvva face. (one of the first things to know and understand about me, is that I have a unitary personality, what you read here is exactly how I role in meatspace) What you mean "our" community mayne? I don't claim pookie and them little "pants all sagging" hood rats exterminating one another. I didn't sire not nary a one of them, and they're not my problem.
At which point I stood up and pulled my khaki short to mid-thigh and stated in no uncertain terms that if you're stupid enough to wear pants like this and scuttle around like a deformed crab, you a priori deserve to get shot. You're a malfunctioning, misfit peasant who doesn't belong in the company of American Black men.
Dravonte got hella nervous and began pulling his pants up and trying to tighten his belt. The bruvva to whom I'd directed this response absolutely could not believe his ears. "You and that attitude are the other part of the problem" he said pointing energetically in my direction. If you don't believe in "community" then we have nothing.
lol, then you have nothing. In order for me to even conceivably run afoul of pant's-all-sagging pookie, I have to make a concerted effort to go out and look for him, spend time with him, and be proximate to him. On the other hand, I can be driving to mass early sunday morning and get pulled over by a revenuing overseer fishing for funds on any one of these boulevards. I don't have to look for him, and no matter where I go, I can be at risk of unwanted contact with him. (skinfade white overseer was silently listening to every single word of this)
Ms. Phyllis called out to him not be shy, and to get in where he fit in if he disagreed.
I explained how disconcerting and disgusting it is to any and all Americans that the institution of the overseers has gone to seed and that these cats can no longer be depended upon to protect the public good and to serve citizens, and have instead become a mercenary revenue generating municipal, county and state function which takes an occupying military stance toward citizens. (now I'm looking overseer skinfade dead in the eye as I say every single word.)
Bruvvas are all silent as church mice except for the other cat my age in Ms. Phyllis chair who is vigorously agreeing with everything I'm saying.
a VIEWPOINT which demands that they retain their BLACK CONSCIOUS AUTONOMY, looking out for the BLACK COMMUNITY INTERESTS There is no such viewpoint, no such autonomy, and no such community out here in the real world, and outside your arcane point of view. Sorry. (that was the takeaway message to the bruvva at the barbershop yesterday who was itching for a rhetorical fight)
