Success against #COVID19 will likely require both vaccines & treatments. We’re pleased to share we’ve started a Phase 2/3 study of our oral antiviral candidate—specifically designed to combat SARS-CoV-2—in non-hospitalized, low-risk adults: https://t.co/su5VtfbWPX
Rogan,
host of the immensely popular Spotify podcast "The Joe Rogan
Experience," posted a video to Instagram explaining he tested positive
for the coronavirus following his return from a live show Saturday. He
said he had “fevers and sweats” and that he “threw the kitchen sink” at
the illness.
His
treatments included monoclonal antibodies and ivermectin, Rogan said.
Ivermectin, which is not an anti-viral drug, is generally used to treat
or prevent parasites in animals such as horses.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration last month urged
people to stop believing misinformation claiming the livestock treatment
would help cure Covid, saying it saw multiple reports of patients who
have been hospitalized after "self-medicating with ivermectin intended
for horses.”
The agency clarified that FDA-approved
ivermectin tablets meant to treat people with certain conditions caused
by parasitic worms as well as topical formulations used for head lice
and skin conditions like rosacea are different from the drug used on
animals. Ivermectin tablets and topical formulations for humans have
"very specific doses" that are significantly smaller than the doses
meant for animals.
Patients who overdose with ivermectin
can experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, low blood pressure, allergic
reactions, dizziness, problems with balance, seizures, coma and even
death, according to the FDA.

mintpressnews | Liberals who express dismay, or more bizarrely a fevered hope, about
the corporatists and imperialists selected to fill the positions in the
Biden administration are the court jesters of our political burlesque. They long ago sold their soul and abandoned their most basic principles to
line up behind a bankrupt Democratic Party. They chant, with every
election cycle, the mantra of the least worst and sit placidly on the
sidelines as a Bill Clinton or a Barack Obama and the Democratic Party
leadership betray every issue they claim to support.
The only thing that mattered to liberals in the presidential race,
once again, was removing a Republican, this time Donald Trump, from
office. This, the liberals achieved. But their Faustian bargain, in
election after election, has shredded their credibility. They are
ridiculed, not only among right-wing Trump supporters but by the
hierarchy of the Democratic Party that has been captured by corporate
power. No one can, or should, take liberals seriously. They stand for
nothing. They fight for nothing. The cost is too onerous. And so, the
liberals do what they always do, chatter endlessly about political and
moral positions they refuse to make any sacrifices to achieve.
Liberals, largely comprised of the professional managerial-class that
dutifully recycles and shops for organic produce and is concentrated on
the two coasts, have profited from the ravages of neoliberalism. They
seek to endow it with a patina of civility. But their routine and public
humiliation has ominous consequences. It not only exposes the liberal
class as hollow and empty, it discredits the liberal democratic values
they claim to uphold. Liberals should have abandoned the Democratic
Party when Bill Clinton and political hacks such as Biden transformed
the Democratic Party into the Republican Party and launched a war on
traditional liberal values and left-wing populism. They should have
defected by the millions to support Ralph Nader and other Green Party
candidates.
This defection, as Nader understood, was the only tactic that could
force the Democrats to adopt parts of a liberal and left-wing agenda and
save us from the slow-motion corporate coup d’รฉtat. Fear is the real
force behind political change, not oily promises of mutual goodwill.
Short of this pressure, this fear, especially with labor unions
destroyed, there is no hope. Now we will reap the consequences of the
liberal class’s moral and political cowardice.
The Democratic Party elites revel in taunting liberals as well as the
left-wing populists who preach class warfare and supported Bernie
Sanders.
jacobin | Nearly two decades since its initial passage in the aftermath of the
9/11 attacks, the Patriot Act has continued to linger in our collective
memory. Though few Americans probably remember much about its provisions
or specifics, the Bush-era legislation long ago entered into general
usage as an synonym for heavy-handed domestic surveillance and
institutional overreach — the words “Patriot Act” now being practically
synonymous with secrecy, eavesdropping, and the rolling back of civil
liberties under the intentionally broad guise of “national security.”
Given the law’s contents and implications in practice, this reputation is well deserved. Passing the Senate with only a single
dissenting vote, the Patriot Act dramatically expanded the power of
federal authorities to spy on ordinary Americans with minimal oversight:
enabling the FBI to obtain detailed information about citizens’ banking
history and personal communications without having to seek judicial
approval and even allowing “sneak and peek” searches of homes and
offices. “The Patriot Act,” in the rather blunt words of a brief prepared by the ACLU, “[turned] regular citizens into suspects.”
Predictably, a great deal of law enforcement activity resulted from the ludicrously titled law (USA PATRIOT was a backronym
for “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools
Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism”). According to data
released by the Department of Justice, the FBI made hundreds of
thousands of incursions into personal phone, computer, and financial
records in the years immediately following its passage — the utility of
these searches in identifying or preventing actual terrorist activities
being debatable, to say the least.
Despite passing with widespread support, the Patriot Act
was still considered extreme enough for lawmakers to attach sunset
clauses to several of its major provisions, guaranteeing their expiry in
lieu of congressional renewal (which, incidentally, eventually came under George W. Bush and again under Barack Obama).
One prominent Delaware lawmaker, however, felt it didn’t go far enough.
Ahead of the nearly unanimous October 25, 2001, Senate vote on the Patriot Act, Joe Biden was regularly claiming the law as his own, boasting in an interview with the New Republic:
“I drafted a terrorism bill after the Oklahoma City bombing. And the
bill John Ashcroft sent up was my bill.” Biden wasn’t wrong. In fact,
key parts of the Bush administration’s signature national security law
were drawn from provisions contained in Biden’s own 1995 anti-terrorism bill. Originally called the Omnibus Counterterrorism Act, Jacobin’s Branco Marcetic summarized it contents as follows:
The bill made “terrorism” a new federal crime, allowed
those charged with terrorism to be automatically detained before trial,
outlawed donations to government-designated terrorist groups, allowed
electronic surveillance of suspected terrorists, and created a special
court to deport noncitizens accused of terrorism (ironically, when Bush
had proposed a similar measure years before, Biden had denounced it as “the very antithesis of our legal system”). It also let the government use evidence from secret sources in those trials.
Calling the Patriot Act “measured and prudent” during an approving speech
on the Senate floor, Biden would nonetheless lament the removal of
sections from his 1995 bill that would have given police even more
sweeping powers of surveillance.
“Mr. Biden has said he plans to make a priority
of passing a law against domestic terrorism, and he has been urged to
create a White House post overseeing the fight against ideologically
inspired violent extremists and increasing funding to combat them,” Wall Street Journal reports.
Did you know that Biden has often boasted about being the original author of the US Patriot Act?
The first draft of the civil rights-eroding USA PATRIOT Act was magically introduced one week after the 9/11 attacks. Legislators later admitted
that they hadn’t even had time to read through the hundreds of pages of
the history-shaping bill before passing it the next month, yet somehow
its authors were able to gather all the necessary information and write
the whole entire thing in a week.
This was because most of the work had already been done. CNET reported the following back in 2008:
“Months before the Oklahoma City bombing took place, [then-Senator Joe] Biden introduced another bill called the Omnibus Counterterrorism Act of 1995.
It previewed the 2001 Patriot Act by allowing secret evidence to be
used in prosecutions, expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance
Act and wiretap laws, creating a new federal crime of ‘terrorism’ that
could be invoked based on political beliefs, permitting the U.S.
military to be used in civilian law enforcement, and allowing permanent
detention of non-U.S. citizens without judicial review. The Center for
National Security Studies said the bill would erode
‘constitutional and statutory due process protections’ and would
‘authorize the Justice Department to pick and choose crimes to
investigate and prosecute based on political beliefs and associations.’
Biden’s bill was never put to a vote, but after 9/11 then-Attorney General John Ashcroft reportedly credited his bill with the foundations of the USA PATRIOT Act.
americanthinker |Suddenly,
though, the media is releasing information about the criminal
investigations into not both Hunter Biden and Joe’s brother, James
Biden. As the above tweet notes, these investigations have been ongoing
for years. We also know that a sizable number of voters
would have passed over Biden for Trump had they known about Biden
family corruption. So, what gives? Why are Hunter and, by extension, Joe
himself, suddenly fair game?
It could be that bad things are about to come down from the FBI. After all, Trump did promise
that “a lot of big things” will happen soon. The sudden flurry of
reports about the Bidens could just be the Democrats’ way of getting
ahead of the story so that, if Hunter is shown doing the perp walk, they
can say that it’s “old news.”
However,
it’s equally likely that the Democrats are making plans to get Biden
out of office as quickly as possible – or perhaps, sideline him before
he’s even sworn in (assuming, of course, that Biden hangs onto that
president-elect title). As Monica Showalter pointed out on Thursday, Biden is not making leftists happy. He’s filling his possible administration with corporate insiders, he wants a former military officer to head the defense department, and he’s continuing to show a very rapid cognitive decline. He's offering Clinton-era politics with a side of dementia and that is not what the hard left side of the party wants.
In
any event, the goal, always, was to get Kamala into the White House. It
didn’t and doesn’t matter that the voters don’t like her -- as
demonstrated by the fact that even her home state of California didn’t like her and her early retreat from the primaries. What matters is that she, unlike both Hillary and Joe, is Barack Obama’s true third term.
Harris
is as hard left as they come and willing to do whatever it takes to
maintain power. While Joe Biden, despite his corruption and his shift to
the hard left, still cherishes some residual notions about the
Constitution, Kamala is not hindered by such old-fashioned ideas:
With
Americans at large finally learning that Hunter Biden and James Biden
are crooked and that Joe is the big, corrupt tree from which these
rotten apples fell, there’s going to be lots of pressure on Joe to
retire as quickly as is politely possible. It’s The New York Times that
gives the game away. On Thursday, it published a positively wistful
article entitled “Investigation of His Son Is Likely to Hang Over Biden
as He Takes Office: Unless the Trump Justice Department clears Hunter
Biden, the new president will confront the prospect of his own
administration handling an inquiry that could expose his son to criminal
prosecution.” The opening paragraph, speaks of Biden in a “no-win situation” that could be “politically and legally perilous,” and the report continues in that vein. The subtext is clear: Leave. Leave now.
Joe
served his purpose by being the bland front person for a full leftist
assault on the White House. Now it’s time for him to go. And while his
handlers may reward him for a job well done with the pleasure of the
inauguration, you can be sure that they’ll pressure him to do what he promised to do, which is to invent a respectable disease and quit ASAP.
nakedcapitalism | I hate to have to make a couple of qualifying remarks about an otherwise excellent discussion of how the Democrats have made promises
to too many constituencies, particularly Big Finance and top
professionals, and will soon go through elaborate exercises to try to
pretend that they aren’t betraying some interests to deliver to others.
I’ve mentioned before that Paul Jay has developed a misguided
obsession with BlackRock, when it is far from the most powerful
financial firm. Goldman, with its astonishing alumni penetration of top
level government positions in the US and abroad (Mario Draghi, Mark
Carney, William Dudley and Neel Kashkari as as central bankers; Bob
Rubin, Hank Paulson, and Steven Mnuchin as Treasury Secretaries; Gary
Gensler, admittedly a bit of a turncoat, as head of the CFTC; John
Corzine and Phil Muphy as New Jersey governors; I’m sure I missed
plenty). The idea that a former BlackRock official Brian Deese becoming
head of the National Economic Council confers some sort of outsized
influence is quite a stretch…particularly since former Goldman President
and Chief Operating Officer Gary Cheld the same post in Trump’s
administration.
Similarly, any of the top private equity firms has vastly more power
than BlackRock. Even though BlackRock manages more money, it has an
arms-length, virtually nil influence relationship with the companies
whose shares are in its funds.
By contrast KKR stated in one of its annual reports in the mid-2000
that it would be the fifth biggest employer in the US through its
portfolio companies. Given that private equity has only grown as a share
of global equity since then, it’s extremely likely that Blackstone,
Carlyle and KKR each through their portfolio companies are among the top
ten employers in the US.
All of these private equity firms hire and fire the executives of
their portfolio companies and dictate which law and accounting firms
they use; they could reach in and fire any employee if they chose to
(say they found offensive remarks on Facebook or Twitter). Private
equity collectively is the biggest source of fees to Wall Street (their
rich merger and acquisition and financing fees dwarf the skimpy stock
and bond trading fees a BlackRock pays1), the biggest source
of fees to white shoe law firms, and I am told, since the early 2000s,
also pay more than half the fees of top consultants McKinsey, Bain, and
BCG
By contrast, Larry Fink, the CEO of BlackRock, has extremely little
direct influence over any of the public or late-stage VC companies in
which BlackRock invests. Nearly all shares are held in index funds,
which means BlackRock’s overriding concern is index replication at the
lowest possible cost. It can’t buy or sell shares to make a point.
BlackRock does not hold large enough stakes to appoint directors, let
alone hire and fire executives or employees.
And BlackRock’s promotion of ESG, as in environmental, social and
governance investing? BlackRock is very late to that party. CalPERS and
CalSTRS were true believers long ago; CalPERS famously dumped tobacco
stocks at the worst possible time, right before the Federal-state
settlement. CalSTRS pressured Cerberus to dump its holdings in gun maker
Remington in 2015. A party with inside knowledge of BlackRock told me
that the big reason BlackRock suddenly became a vocal advocate was that
it hoped to win the mandate to take over CalPERS private equity
portfolio. Recall that Bloomberg publicized in late 2017 that that was
CalPERS’ plan, despite BlackRock’s lack of meaningful private equity
experience. BlackRock was indeed on a short list of firms invited to
propose over that Christmas/New Years holiday. BlackRock staring making a
full throated defense of ESG investing, which is near and dear to the
board’s heart, in early 2018, with CalPERS Chief Investment Officer Ted
Eliopoulos at Larry Fink’s side during the press conference. The effort
to hand off CalPERS’ portfolio to an outside party and have less control
and pay even more fees fell apart under press scrutiny, led by this
website.
Another smaller sour note was Mark Blyth depicting Republicans as
representing extractive, old economy industries. Top expert on political
money in America, Tom Ferguson, says that’s simplistic. While oil and
fracking company donations are strongly Republican, of the four biggest
private equity firms, the heads of three (KKR, Blackstone, and Carlyle)
are established heavyweight Republican donors. Industry insiders report
that private equity firms press portfolio company executives to donate
in line with parent company preferences. Apollo, as more of a real
estate firm, gives to both parties, as do most developers, since they
always need friends in office. The arms industry skews Republican. The
health care industry gives heavily to both parties.
southfront | The
conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and
opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society.
Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an
invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. …We
are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas
suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical
result of the way in which our democratic society is organized.”
Edward Bernays (1928)
“With the Hunter Biden Expose, Suppression is a Bigger Scandal Than The Actual Story “ (Article Title)
Matt Taibbi (2020)
Bernays, drawing on Walter Lippmann, as Hermann and Chomsky also did in Manufacturing Consent in 1988, got it right.
Matt Taibbi got it almost right.
“Almost”, because he seems to suggest that media censorship, redaction and news blackouts, as in the case of the Hunter Biden scandal, are exceptional events,
when they are really just examples of what the Main Stream Media (MSM)
does all the time: a time-honored tradition that has been a fixture of
the Western World since before WWI. What Bernays called “conscious and
intelligent manipulation” — molding your mind on behalf of a small group
of people, “ the invisible government that is the true ruling power” —
is what the media was set up to do, its main job with the advent of
general literacy and newspapers.
Lippmann
and Bernays claimed that this kind of subtle authoritarian control is
what people wanted, an idea that Adolph Hitler naturally liked, as he
did most things American. And, today’s mainstream media seem to agree —
people don’t want to think for themselves.
At
least, that belief is implicit in the redaction of the Hunter Biden
story — along with the news blackout of Joe Biden’s past — coupled with
constant repetition of Joe Biden’s faux virtues and the enthusiastic
whitewashing of his cabinet of neocons and neoliberals. Redaction and
Repetition” are the two, all-important R’s of mind control.

The New York Times has published an article
titled "Could Limiting Corporate Candidates Hurt Biden’s Diversity
Push?", for the benefit of all those normal everyday readers who've been
lying awake at night wondering if limiting corporate candidates might
hurt Biden's diversity push.
The article's authors warn against
the nonexistent, completely imaginary threat of the next presidential
administration rejecting corporatists for cabinet positions to appease
the Democratic Party's progressive wing, claiming that doing so would be
"narrowing the candidate pool" in a way that hurts Biden's stated aim
of creating an administration that is as diverse as America. Because
apparently executive positions in the corporate and financial sector are
the only place you can find ethnic minorities in America.
“Groups
from the far left throw out edicts, but these don’t reflect the
realities of the American experience or inequality, the racial wealth
gap, and may prove counterproductive to diversify the administration and
to implement policies that work for all Americans,” NYT is told by a
member of the influential DC lobbying firm Mehlman Castagnetti.
The New York Times is warning of the pressing danger of the
Biden administration conceding too much to "the far left" at a time when
progressive politicians have reportedly already been ruled out as candidates for cabinet positions due
to concerns of appearing to be too far left, and when members of the
Biden camp are already waving off demands from progressives using the
phrase "we don't negotiate with terrorists".
"Thus
far, 46 percent of Biden’s transition staff are people of color and 41
percent of senior staff are people of color," Vox reports. "More than
half of the transition staff — 52 percent — are women, and 53 percent of
senior staff are women."
jonathanturley | We have been discussing the calls for top Democrats for increased private censorship
on social media and the Internet. President-elect Joe Biden has
himself called for such censorship, including blocking President Donald
Trump’s criticism of mail-in voting. Now, shortly after the election,
one of Biden’s top aides is ramping up calls for a crackdown on Facebook
for allowing Facebook users to read views that he considers misleading —
users who signed up to hear from these individuals. Bill Russo, a
deputy communications director on Biden’s campaign press team, tweeted late Monday that Facebook “is shredding the fabric of our democracy” by allowing such views to be shared freely.
Russo tweeted that “If you thought disinformation on Facebook was a
problem during our election, just wait until you see how it is shredding
the fabric of our democracy in the days after.” Russo objected to the
fact that, unlike Twitter, Facebook did not move against statements that
he and the campaign viewed as “misleading.” He concluded.
“We pleaded with Facebook for over a year to be serious about these
problems. They have not. Our democracy is on the line. We need answers.”
For those of us in the free speech community, these threats are
chilling. We saw incredible abuses before the election in Twitter
barring access to a true story in the New York Post
about Hunter Biden and his alleged global influence peddling scheme.
Notably, no one in the Biden camp (including Biden himself) thought that
it was a threat to our democracy to have Twitter block the story (while
later admitting that it was a mistake).
I have previously objected to such regulation of speech. What is most
disturbing is how liberals have embraced censorship and even declared
that “China was right” on Internet controls.
Asia Times | US intel is very much aware of well-documented instances of election fraud. Among them: NSA software that infiltrates any network, as previously detailed by Edward Snowden, and capable of altering vote counts; the Hammer supercomputer and its Scorecard app
that hacks computers at the transfer points of state election computer
systems and outside third party election data vaults; the Dominion software system,
known to have serious security issues since 2000, but still used in 30
states, including every swing state; those by now famous vertical jumps

someone with so little support in the Dem primaries that she was the

The optics, especially seen from vast swathes of the
imperial-interfered Global South, may be somewhat terrible. Dodgy

Welcome to the New Resistance
The GOP is in a very comfortable position. They hold the Senate and
may end up picking up as may as 12 seats in the House. They also know
that any attempt by Biden-Harris to legislate via Executive Orders will
have…consequences.
The Fox News/ New York Post angle is particularly enticing. Why are
they suddenly supporting Biden? Way beyond internal family squabbles
worthy of the Succession saga, Rupert Murdoch made it very clear, via the laptop from hell caper, that he has all sorts of kompromat on the Biden family. So they will do whatever he wants. Murdoch does not need Trump anymore.
Nor, in theory, does the GOP. Former CIA insiders assure of serious
backroom shenanigans going on between GOP honchos and the Biden-Harris
gang. Trade-offs bypassing Trump – which most of the GOP hates with a
vengeance. The most important man in Washington will be in fact GOP
Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell.
Still, to clear any lingering doubts, a vote recount would be
absolutely necessary in all 6 contested states – WI, MI, PA, GA, NV and
AZ. Through hand counting. One by one. The DoJ would need to act on it,
immediately. Not gonna happen. Recounts cost a ton of money. There’s no
evidence Team Trump – on top of it short of funds and manpower – will be
able to convince Daddy Bush asset William Barr to go for it.
While relentlessly demonizing Trump for spreading “a torrent of
misinformation” and “trying to undermine the legitimacy of the US
election”, mainstream media and Big Tech have declared a winner – a
classic case of pre-programming the sheep multitudes.
theautomaticearth | With Biden you don’t get Biden, you get the entire cabal that went
after Trump, the Democratic Party, the media, the intelligence agencies.
And yes, Biden was and is very much part of that cabal. How people do
not find that a whole lot scarier than Donald Trump is beyond me.
If -and no that is not when- Joe Biden is inaugurated on January 20
2021, that cabal will take over the country. And we’ve seen plenty
indications that they intend to make it impossible for the Republicans
to ever get one of their own elected as president again. Moreover they
will not be investigated for what they concocted over the past 4-5
years.
How the Hillary campaign and the DNC leaked things to the FBI, and
the FBI to the MSM, how they lied in courtrooms to get FISA applications
on Trump campaign people like Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. How
they set up Lt.-Gen. Michael Flynn so he wouldn’t be Trump’s National
Security Adviser, because Flynn knew too much.
It’s a scheme so full of illegal actions that it will be devastating
for the entire American political system if it is never investigated, or
even if it isn’t investigated very very thoroughly, by an impartial
party. And it won’t be if Biden becomes president.
The cabal wants you to think this is about Trump, and any given way
to get rid of him is justifiable no matter what, but that is a very
dangerous way of thinking. If crimes have been committed, they must be
brought into daylight and before a court.
Problem is, of course, that at least half the nation has no idea of
what’s been going on. Because they get their news and information from
those media that are in on the whole deal. They won’t know that the DNC
paid for the Steele Dossier, or that is was just a bunch of lies, or
that the FBI knew this even before Rosenstein appointed Mueller as
Special Counsel. All that has been kept away from them.
And yes, 4 years ago Trump said he would fight the swamp, but landed
right in the middle of it. Early in his presidency he found himself
surrounded by the likes of McMaster, John Kelly, Tillerson, and many
other swamp creatures, and today he still has people like Mike Pompeo.
But at least Trump is an outsider, and if anything can ever be done to
drain the swamp, it will have to come from an outsider. That it may take
more than 4 years is something we have to take for granted.
The swamp has fought back, and they may yet win. Joe Biden is the
face of that. But people who celebrate that victory should think again,
whether they like Trump or not. The swamp is not good for you, and it’s
not good for your country, your rights, your freedoms. Its entire MO is
to take all these away from you. This is not a partisan thing; the fat
ass of the swamp easily fits and sits across the divide.
statesman | A Trump Train swarmed a Biden Bus on Interstate 35 between San
Antonio and Austin Friday afternoon, leading the Democrats on board,
including congressional candidate Wendy Davis, to call 911 and cancel
the Austin close of their “Battle for the Soul of the Nation” tour.
On Saturday evening, President Donald Trump tweeted his delight.
“I love Texas!” Trump tweeted with a video of the scene over the soundtrack of Tech N9ne’s “Red Kingdom.
According to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s Texas

afternoon on its way from San Antonio to a drive-by event with
supporters at Texas State University in San Marcos, followed by a
“closing argument” press conference at the Texas AFL-CIO headquarters in
downtown Austin, when vehicles with Trump signs and flags surrounded
the bus trying to slow it down in the middle of the highway or run it
off the road.
Biden staff notified 911 and local law enforcement, and, they reported, officers helped the bus to reach its Austin destination. (no surprise about who got scurred and called the police)

“Rather than engage in productive conversation about the drastically
different visions that Joe Biden and Donald Trump have for our country,
Trump supporters in Texas instead decided to put our staff, surrogates,
supporters, and others in harm’s way,” Tariq Thowfeek, Texas
communications director of the Biden campaign, said in a statement
Saturday.
“Our supporters will continue to organize their communities for Joe
Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot, and to the
Texans who disrupted our events today: We’ll see you on November 3rd,”
Thowfeek said.
No one was injured, and there were no reports of anyone being arrested.
It
is evident on a video of the incident that there was a glancing but
obvious contact between a black Trump pickup and a white car being

serious or disabling damage.
thefederalist | Fox News’ Tucker Carlson will be dedicating his entire prime time
program Tuesday night to a one-hour interview with Biden family
whistleblower Tony Bobulinski.
Carlson announced the programming Monday afternoon.
The Federalist confirmed with sources familiar with the plans that
Bobulinski, a retired Navy lieutenant and Biden associate, will be
airing tapes of Biden operatives begging Bobulinski to remain quiet as
former Vice President Joe Biden nears the finish line to the White House
next week.
Bobulinski first came forward last week with a public statement
emailed to The Federalist and other outlets going on-the-record to
corroborate incriminating claims to surface from the New York Post the
week prior and the long-anticipated Senate report published in September
on the Biden family’s potentially criminal business activity.
“Hunter Biden called his dad ‘the Big Guy’ or ‘my Chairman,’ and
frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various
potential deals that we were discussing,” wrote Bobulinski, confirming
that the identity of “the Big Guy’ in a May 17, 2017 email published in
the New York Post
is indeed a reference to Joe Biden. The same email showed Hunter Biden
was being offered a $3 million a year contract from a Chinese
businessman with deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for
“introductions alone,” and 10 percent was flagged to be set aside for
“the Big Guy.”
On Friday, The Federalist published
explosive text messages from a Biden business associate instructing
Bobulinski to conceal Joe Biden’s involvement with deals related to the
CCP-linked firm.
“Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when you are face to face,” wrote James Gilliar.
epochtimes | In May 2019 Joe Biden distinguished himself from all of the other
candidates for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination by
ridiculing the idea that China is a strategic threat to the United
States. “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” he told a
campaign crowd in Iowa City. Biden had for years adopted a soft approach
to China. When President Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton,
was taking a tougher position towards China’s adventurism in Asia, Vice
President Biden was urging caution. Biden had formed a warm personal
relationship with Xi Jinping when Xi was vice president and
president-in-waiting.
In his second term, Obama replaced Clinton as secretary of state with
the more accommodating John Kerry. The dynamics help to explain why
Obama’s 2012 “pivot to Asia” was a damp squib. The United States stood
back while China annexed islands and features in the South China Sea and
built military bases on them, something Xi had promised Obama he would
not do. Breaking the promise has given China an enormous strategic
advantage.
Joe Biden cleaves to the belief, now abandoned by many China scholars
and most Washington politicians, that engagement with China will entice
it into being a responsible stakeholder. The University of
Pennsylvania’s D.C. think tank—named, for him, the Penn Biden Center for
Diplomacy and Global Engagement—aims to address threats to the liberal
international order, yet China is absent from the threats identified on
its website:
Russia, climate change and terrorism. Biden has spoken about China’s
violation of human rights but still clings to the idea of China’s
“peaceful rise.”
So does it matter if Joe Biden has a different view of China? It
does, because there is evidence that the CCP has been currying his favor
by awarding business deals that have enriched his son, Hunter Biden.
One account of this is given by Peter Schweizer in his 2019 book “Secret
Empires.” Some of his key claims were subsequently challenged and Schweizer refined them in an op-ed in the New York Times
(famous for fact-checking). In short, when Vice President Biden
travelled to China in December 2013 on an official trip, his son flew
with him on Airforce Two. While Biden senior was engaging in soft
diplomacy with China’s leaders, Hunter was having other kinds of
meetings. Then, “less than two weeks after the trip, Hunter’s firm …
which he founded with two other businessmen [including John Kerry’s
stepson] in June 2013, finalized a deal to open a fund, BHR Partners,
whose largest shareholder is the government-run Bank of China, even
though he had scant background in private equity.”
thehill | The former vice president was asked in an interview on the
progressive political podcast "Pod Save America" released Saturday why
he hasn't highlighted concerns that the Trump family is
profiting off the presidency, a charge Trump has made against Biden's
son.
"It's a specific decision, and I just think it's crass," Biden said.
"I'm running against Donald Trump, not his children, and the American
people want to hear about their families, not about Trump's family or
my family, although I'm very proud of my family," he said. "It's just
not how I was raised. It's that basic. It's Donald Trump."
Critics
have long raised concerns about Trump's family profiting off his
presidency, with Democrats maintaining that his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner holding positions as senior White House advisers presents conflicts of interest with their businesses.
Ivanka
Trump has brushed off such criticisms, saying last year that her father
ran for office after making his money in real estate.
“His
wealth, and our wealth, collectively and independently, was created
prior to government service and prior to anyone in our lives having run
for elected office,” she told The Associated Press then.
“Most people do create their wealth post service. We created ours prior,” she added.
NYPost | What might the Bidens’ foreign benefactors have expected in return
for all this largesse? We can’t say. But some may see a correlation
between that foreign money and Joe Biden’s policy posture toward the
sources of that money.
Consider the case of the Penn Biden Center, a D.C. think tank named
after Joe Biden. According to the Center, its mission is to “Address
Threats to the Liberal International Order.” The Center analyzes the
threats of “Russia” and “climate change” in detail. But China — the
largest violator of basic human rights on the planet — does not make the
list. Why?
Perhaps we now know why.
The New York Post broke news
last week that Joe Biden himself may have benefited from his son’s
dealings. The Post quoted a cryptic message from one of Hunter’s
partners, saying that “10 [percent] held by H for the big guy?” The
recipient of that message, Tony Bobulinski, says “there is no question” that “H” stands for Hunter and the “Big Guy” is Joe Biden.
We gain further insight into the operations of Biden Inc. in emails
provided to us by Bevan Cooney, a former business associate of Hunter
Biden. Cooney, who is currently in prison for his role in the Indian
Bond Scheme that is sending Hunter Biden business partner Devon Archer
also to jail, shared 26,000 emails that show what Hunter’s role was in
their business ventures. The Biden name was considered “currency” for
their foreign business ventures, and was a “direct…pipeline” to the
Obama-Biden Administration. Deals involving Hunter benefited from the
“Biden lift,” the help that the name would provide in overseas dealings.
After first dismissing the gathering scandal as a “conspiracy
theory,” the Biden team shifted to the position that Joe had never
talked with his family about their business dealings, then shifted again
to the position that he’d never met with his family’s business
partners. Now, with the latest document revelations, Joe Biden unveiled
his latest defense in the recent debate: “I have not taken a single
penny from any country whatsoever, ever.”
Team Biden points to Joe and Jill Biden’s tax returns as evidence
that Joe did nothing improper. It is worth noting that the family
members upon whom foreign entities showered money are not required to
disclose their finances.
theatlantic | For those trying to follow along at home, the emails produced by Tyrmand are not
the same emails that originally appeared on a laptop that Hunter Biden
supposedly left at a Delaware computer-repair shop, the laptop that then
became a story in the New York Post (and whose contents, according to a report in Time, were circulating previously in Ukraine).
This is a different cache, one that is even more tangential to the U.S.
presidential campaign and even harder to understand. In order to even
make sense of the messages’ content, the reader must learn the
backstories of a whole new cast of characters, not just Cooney but two
other convicted fraudsters named Devon Archer and Jason Galanis;
the wife of the former mayor of Moscow, Yelena Baturina; and Chris
Heinz, John Kerry’s stepson, who broke away from the group; as well as
their relationships, their jokes (they refer to Baturina as the “USSR
woman’s shot put champion”), and the rules of the ugly world they
inhabit. In order to link them to Joe Biden, you have to turn
somersaults, do triple flips, and squint very hard.
Those
who live outside the Fox News bubble and intend to remain there do not,
of course, need to learn any of this stuff. Judging by what has been
published, the very worst thing that Tyrmand’s email cache could reveal
(if it is authentic) is that some unattractive people sought to use
Hunter Biden’s surname and connections to get business deals or score a
visit to the White House for their clients. But we already know about
Hunter Biden’s involvement with unattractive people, and his struggles
with addiction; we also know that, under normal circumstances, dozens of
people visit the8 White House every day. On the grand scale of misdeeds
committed by politicians and their relatives, this kind of thing barely registers. Compare that with, say, the Trump family’s well-documented hotel deal
with an Azerbaijani business family linked to the Iranian Revolutionary
Guard Corps. Or the Trump family’s blatant use of its status to funnel money to its own companies. Or the Trumps’ illegal abuse of their charitable foundation. Or the president’s secret Chinese business bank account.
The Trump family is a living, breathing, walking conflict of
interest—so much so that much of Donald Trump’s foreign policy is most
easily explained through the lens of his personal greed and his hotel
investments, not as the emanation of any kind of American national
interest.
But this, of course, is not the point. In releasing the 26,000 emails, Tyrmand and his collaborator, the Breitbart News
contributor Peter Schweizer, are not bringing forth any evidence of
actual lawbreaking, or an actual security threat, by either Hunter or
Joe Biden. They are instead creating a miasma, an atmosphere, a foggy
world in which misdeeds might have taken place, and in which corruption might
have happened. They are also providing the raw material from which more
elaborate stories can be constructed. The otherwise incomprehensible
reference in last night’s debate to “the mayor of Moscow’s wife,” from
whom Joe Biden somehow got rich, was an excellent example of how this
works. A name surfaces in a large collection of data; it is detached
from its context; it is then used to make an insinuation or accusation
that cannot be proved; it is then forgotten, unless it gains some
traction, in which case it is repeated again.
pjmedia | Moreover, what other presidential candidate has refused to provide
his position on key issues, including whether he would pack the Supreme
Court? When has any other candidate haughtily waved off questions of
debate moderators and reporters with the sophomoric dodge that, “Trump
just wants you to focus on this issue (instead of what an SOB he is)”?
Adding insult to injury, when has the media ever let any candidate
off the hook like this, which is a scandal of unprecedented proportions?
Obviously, the media disrespects the electorate as much as the Biden
campaign does.
If anything is indisputably the media’s job, it is to bring out the
candidates’ positions on important issues, and packing the Supreme Court
and the Biden scandals are exceedingly important — and relevant —
issues. What would the media’s reaction be if Trump refused to answer
such questions?
The media dutifully promoted the canard that the Russians — yes, the
Russians again — were behind the emails found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
But how will these crooked conspirators explain away the bombshell
revelation of Hunter’s former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, that
the “big guy” referred to in Hunter’s email is Joe Biden himself? How
will they handle Bobulinski’s assertion that Joe Biden was offered 10%
interest in a Chinese business deal?
But for my money, even these cover-ups don’t hold a candle to the
media’s scandalous concealment of Joe Biden’s declining mental acuity.
In his current state, Biden clearly is not fit for office, yet the media
ignores it while raising bogus questions about the uncannily vibrant
Trump’s capacity. Reality has finally trumped George Orwell’s
imagination.
Where is the perennial finger-wagger Bob Woodward when you need him?
The American public knows everything there is to know about Trump, as
they’ve scrutinized every molecule of his being and business dealings
and dug up every conceivably negative morsel about him during the last
four years.
baldingsworld | Lost among the salacious revelations about laptop provenance is the
more mundane reality of influence and money of major United States
political figures. Ill informed accusations of Russian hacking and
disinformation face the documented reality of a major Chinese state
financial partnership with the children of major political figures. A
report by an Asian research firm raises worrying questions about the
financial links between China and Hunter Biden.
Beginning just before Joe Bidens ascendancy to the Vice Presidency,
Hunter Biden was travelling to Beijing meeting with Chinese financial
institutions and political figures would ultimately become his
investors. Finalized in 2013, the investment partnership included money
from the Chinese government, social security, and major state-owned
banks a veritable who’s who of Chinese state finance.
It is not simply the state money that should cause concern but the
structures and deals that took place. Most investment in specific
projects came from state owned entities and flowed into state backed
projects or enterprises. Even the deals speak to the worst of cronyism.
The Hunter Biden investment firm share of a copper mine in the Congo was
guaranteed with assets put at risk by the larger copper company to
ensure deal flow to Hunter’s firm.
In another instance, Bank of China working on an IPO in Hong Kong
gave its share allocation to the BHR investment partnership. They were
able to do this because even though the Hunter Biden firm completed no
notable work on the IPO, it is counted as a subsidiary of the Bank of
China. The Hunter Biden Chinese investment partnership is literally
invested in by the Chinese state and a subsidiary of the Bank of China
owned by the Chinese Ministry of Finance.
The entire arrangement speaks to Chinese state interests. Meetings
were held at locations that in China speak to the welcoming of foreign
dignitaries or state to state relations. The Chinese organizations
surrounding Hunter Biden are known intelligence and influence operatives
to the United States government. The innocuous names like Chinese
People’s Institute for Foreign Affairs exist to “…carry out
government-directed policies and cooperative initiatives with
influential foreigners without being perceived as a formal part of the
Chinese government.”
Interestingly the CPIFA is under the Chinese Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. When the investment partnership was struck in 2013, the
Minister of Foreign Affairs was Yang Jiechi. Yang would have been very
familiar with Hunter Biden from his days in Washington as the Chinese
Ambassador to the United States from 2001 to 2005 during which he met
regularly with Joe Biden chairing the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee. Today the same individual who oversaw institutions helping
shepherd Hunter’s investment partnership as the Minister of Foreign
Affairs is Xi Jinping’s right hand man on foreign affairs and member of
the powerful Politburo.
Most worrying is the financial leverage this gives the Chinese state
over a direct member of the Biden family. Despite the widely reported
$1-1.5 billion of investment the reality is likely much higher. A
co-founder of the investment firm reports the total assets under
management as $6.5 billion. While this number cannot be completely
replicated, given that two deal alone were worth in excess of $1.6
billion this number is not unrealistic at all. A 2% annual fee on
assets under management would generate $130 million annually. Add in the
20% fee on capital gains the firm would recognize and it is not
difficult to see Hunter’s stake being worth in excess of $50 million.
According to Hunter’s attorney, he did not invest his $400,000 in the
company until 2017. Even assuming the veracity of this statement, this
raises a major problem. Founded in 2013, the firm had large amounts of
revenue and assets under management by 2017. In other words, his
$400,000 stake would have already been worth far more than what he paid
for it. This paltry $400,000 investment worth more than $50 million now
would have realized a gain of more than 12,400% in three years.
The difficulty in eluding these concerns is their documentability by
anyone who cares to look. There is no potential for hacking because it
is all public record in China. Any journalist who wishes to look can go
review IPO prospectuses, news reports, or corporate records. There is no
secret method for discovering this data other than actually looking.
There is simply no way to avoid the reality that Hunter Biden was
granted a 10% stake worth far in excess of what he paid for a firm that
is literally operated and owned by the Chinese state.
I did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016 and have significant concerns
about his policies in areas like immigration. Having lived in China for
nine years throughout the Xi regimes construction of concentration
camps and having witnessed first hand their use of influence and
intelligence operations, the Biden links worry me profoundly.
Whether Joe Biden personally knew the details, a very untenable
position, it is simply political malpractice to not be aware of the
details of these financial arrangements. These documentable financial
links simply cannot be wished away.
