what big don and his peeps are worried about....,

The problem with public housing is that the residents are not the owners.
The people that live in the house did not earn the house, but were loaned the property from the true owners, the taxpayers.
Because of this, the residents do not have the "pride of ownership" that comes with the hard work necessary.
In fact, the opposite happens and the residents resent their benefactors because the very house is a constant reminder that they themselves did not earn the right to live in the house.
They do not appreciate the value of the property and see no need to maintain or respect it in any way.
The result is the same whether you are talking about a studio apartment or a magnificent mansion full of priceless antiques.
If the people who live there do not feel they earned the privilege, they will make this known through their actions.
What do all these pics have in common?

They all show a basic disrespect for The White House and its furnishings!
The Resolute Desk was built from the timbers of the HMS Resolute and was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes.
It is considered a national treasure and icon of the presidency.
The White House belongs to the People of America and should be more revered than to use anything and everything for a foot rest! What all these shots have in common is that they continue to prove that this man has no class!
SO HERE'S A MESSAGE FROM THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA :
Mr. Obama, you are not in a hut in Kenya or Indonesia, or public housing in Chicago.
With all due respect, get your ------- feet off our desk!

I'm loving that Big Don and his peeps are finally about to begin to get their rhetorical, political and policy just desserts http://www.theroot.com/views/its-time-we-had-angry-black-president?wpisrc=root_more_news and will soon need to become a lot more concerned about where else Double-O parks those long narrow feet of hizz'n...,

Tourists, pilgrims, and choir boys carved their initials into the Coronation Chair - King Edwards' chair - in Westminster abbey.

In the basement of the Basilica is a graffiti covered brick and plaster wall that contains behind it the bones of St. Peter.

Any number of priceless artifacts have been abused and used for the most ordinary everyday purposes.

Why, I myself have defaced a UN recognized world treasure. Can't say which one...

Need I go on?

How dare the President live in the world with the rest of us.

I'm an incorrigible foot-putter-upper.  Ask my mother-in-law.  I view these pictures with the same sense of relief as when GWB started appearing in public without a necktie.

People concerned about publicly owned antiquities, can ya raise that problem in the normal way without screaming "get yer feet off the table boy" at the freaking POTUS?

Women who act like people exist to serve furniture instead of furniture to serve people really bug me.

Though I must confess that the White House is a special case.  I would just bring in some plain old furniture that I could live with.  But then there would be Americans bitching about that.  I would lynch them of course.

Hey, look, it says here Glenn Beck is "outraged."

No but this is powerful venom though.  After the first 4 pics formed on my screen I felt that relief about my own foot-up problem.  After 10 or 12 of them the BD lobe of my brain was jumping up and down going "Ooh!  Ooh! Ooh" like Horshack.

I'm with Umbra about the wallpaper, it looks like one of the houses on the House Porn Channel, that hasn't been rewallpapered since 1958.

I don't  like feet on the furniture.  I despise feet on the car dashboard.  My legs start would start to go to sleep if I tried to put them up while sitting.  An I would not be comfortable sitting in a meeting where the person opposite of me had their feet up.

I'm just saying...
