tyrant banks is a slave-catching pimp caricature...,

zap2it | On "America's Next Top Model," Azmarie Livingston was eliminated after her refusal to don the butt pad in Tyra's booty tooch teaching seminar. She tells Zap2it that she knew it was coming and she doesn't regret her decision.

Were you surprised you were the one to go?

"No. I knew the minute I told Tyra no, I wasn't gonna wear the butt pad, that I was gonna get sent home, especially when she said you can't participate in the booty tooch session."

The show is pretty infamous for putting the models through some kind of ridiculous stuff. Did you expect that going in?

"I was aware of it. Going in, I knew if there was anything I wasn't comfortable with doing, I had the right to say that I didn't want to do it, even though it could jeopardize me being a part of it. And that was the situation I ended up in ... I wasn't getting eliminated for my body of work."

What exactly about the butt pad was off-putting to you? Or was it the booty tooch exercise in general?

"It wasn't the tooching in general, it was just the pad. I don't know. I didn't feel comfortable. In my mind, I'm like, 'I don't mind tooching, I tooched the other day in the syrup shoot.' But when she was like you gotta wear the pad, I don't know, everything in me just kind of shied up and I backed away. I was like, no, I'm not gonna do this."

Do you regret your decision?

"No. No, I don't. It was something I believed in not doing. I wasn't comfortable. Everything else was fine for me, I just felt like at that point -- I don't know what this has to do with modeling, as far as using a pad, not so much learning the positioning ... Then I got shown in a whole other light 'cause I said no ... I'm glad they showed me apologizing to Tyra, 'cause it had nothing to do with me trying to make her look bad, or say anything towards Tyra or the opportunity she was giving me."

What's next for you?

"Since the show wrapped, I've kind of been low key. Now I've had a lot of offers come in, scripts for TV and for film, as far as the music side of things, I've met some really awesome producers that I've had the opportunity to play them some stuff.

I plan to continue modeling. I'm not represented by anyone at the moment, but I do plan on going back out an seeking representation so I can continue moving forward with my career."

I guess Azmarie is the closest we'll be getting to Esther Rolle principles in this day in time.

Damn...just saw the video part.

Didn't want my son to think I watched this kind of stuff so I waited for his exit.

No wonder ol' girl didn't want to wear it. I almost thought she was some dude in high school.

lol, c'mon magne..., old girl just needs some hella skrong yang to offset her concentrated, butt.like.a.ten.year.old.boy yin. For a model, a "professional" clothes horse, she phoine as hell. Interesting to look at, very plastic in her range of playing dress-up - and IMOHO - a helluva lot more woman than that ninehead having fake as silly putty beezy Tyrant Banks.

esther dayyum rolle..., you need to be shot with hot pee!!! lol...,

On the serious tip, I find the "fashion-industry" to be more of a collective exercise in homoerotic misogyny than any other single memetic point source in popular culture. Now that scandal after scandal is beginning to erupt wrt sexual exploitation of teenage girls in "modeling" well..., the fact that Tyrant Banks acts as a pop culture enforcer/re-enforcer of that old boorashit  - and that her whole and entire steeze could not tolerate a single act of self-assertion by one of the prospective heezies, I think that speaks volumes wrt the true nature of that game.

Pinheaded pretentious muhphuzz be bound and determined to call this exploitative isht art...,

Oh, shit...
Craig is shooting people with hot pee again...
But the thing is; Ms Banks learned to play the game and benefit from it so now she tries to impose the same rules on those who come after.

"learned to play the game and benefit from it" = "submitted herself to ruthless homoerotic misogynistic exploitation and imposes that on submissive others"

In my book, that makes Tyrant "ninehead" Banks nothing more than a slave-catcher. This whole business of promoting, rewarding, and extolling slave-catching is a great service to someone other than the prospective slaves - who really ought to be treated a little better.

Damn. In the past I've come cross articles here and there on the fashion battle front reported by women psychologists but I never took a moment to truly consider the sizable contribution made to help construct a culture of misogyny.

You know any authors that take this conversation all the way?

Nah man, I 'm not hip. I just know what I saw last week that stuck in my craw. I know that when Azmarie said "no", she knew what the consequences would be, and, old fake-azz stank slave-catching Tyrant brought the hammer down like clockwork, like a good slave her damn-self.
