guardian | “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve this great city and to
serve with all of you,” said Jackson. “I will continue to assist the
city in anyway I can in my capacity as private citizen.”
City officials said Jackson would receive a severance payment and
health insurance for a year. Lt. Col. Al Eickhoff is to become acting
police chief while city authorities carry out a “a nationwide search”
for a permanent replacement.
The resignation of Jackson has long been anticipated. He was heavily
criticised for his handling of the furore over a white police officer’s
fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old in Ferguson last year.
Residents were appalled that Jackson’s officers left the body of
Michael Brown lying for more than four hours in the residential
side-street where he had been shot dead by Darren Wilson on 9 August.
Successive nights of protests followed Brown’s death.
Jackson eventually apologise to Brown’s family in a video message.
“It was just too long, and I am truly sorry,” he said of the time
Brown’s body was left in the street. The chief was also criticised for
announcing at the same time as he unveiled Wilson’s long-awaited name
that Brown had been caught robbing a convenience store in the minutes
before he was killed.

You ought to apply for this opening, CNu. BD is certain you could whip that place into shape. Just tell them you think outside the box.....
lol, you're old enough to know that it's never the crime that gets your tribesmen hung up by their teensy weensy little petards, rather, it's the bungled, deformed tail-end of the bell curve cover-up that ALWAYS FUBAR's you. Now, let the record show that your 3rd cousin's son, overseer Wilson's egregious mistake of murdering M. Brown in broad daylight in the middle of the street, has cost your tribe an entire profitable little hamlet.
In addition, it's been beaming burning hot sunshine deep into the dim nooks and crannies of many another of your little sundown town redoubts. I speck quite a few more little rank, dank, and stank Valkanvanian negroe-parasitization operations will get figuratively dismantled just like Ferguson before everything is said and done.
Just like the Janisha Fonville situation in Charlotte, the police see no need to follow any of those options. They operate in a culture of impunity and immunity.

Never has a police department of 72 employees loomed so larger over the entire nation, especially for people who living in cities that have police departments of 7,200 employees and 48,000 employees.
They look for the bit of certification of what the masses have already believed yet little of this will protect the innocent citizens from that which lurks outside, triggering them to call the police when they are at risk.
lol, it's not an either/or dichotomy Feed. Only fools, ass-clowns, and parasitic predators would trouble themselves to pretend that it is. It's a clear cut both/and scenario. The hamlet of Ferguson has been systematically violating the basic civil rights of its majority poorest citizens who happen to be black in order to drive revenues to pay themselves. This is simple racketeering.
The poor black folk there were/are not crazy, they weren't delusional, they clearly saw what they were being subjected to and articulated it in precisely the angry and violent terms that everyone is capable of understanding. As I said to BD above, the hasty and ill-considered systemic and institutional effort to cover for executioner/overseer Wilson, put the whole house of cards into play with what are proving to be disastrous consequences for the entire criminal racket.
This could be washed, rinsed, and repeated in a host of hamlets all across the U.S., up to and including NYC where a man was choked to death for peddling loose cigarettes to feed his family. Frivolous laws designed to enable the harassment and intimidation of the "least of these" folk within the municipal jurisdiction.
So look, those types of unfair, egregious and systemic violations of civil rights for the sake of self-serving revenue have to be rooted out, and eliminated lest they contaminate folks collective belief in the legitimacy of the government. That said, the violent criminal minority plaguing these communities needs to be rooted out and exterminated without the delays and headaches of due process.
Use of social network analysis, (hell the tools at your disposal for id'ing and tracking bots and botnets furnish a perfect analogy of what needs to be brought to bear against the rotten apples in the hood. You don't shake down 98% of male residents to get at the 1-2% of male perpetrators. Instead, you direct a laser focus on the perpetrators using the full-spectrum of technologies at your disposal and then you simply dispatch strike teams to perforate these perpetrators in their sleep at 3:00am in the morning.
Everything else is childish partisan conversation.....,
Dear Sir:
I never contested that this "Pay To Play" financial scheme is not a reality.
In metro-Atlanta the very same thing happened in "Riverdale", "Lake City" and "Forrest Park" as demographic changes in these small cities who used "speed traps" as a source of revenue.
MY POINT, is that even though I will defend certain operatives in the practice of their free speech/right to assemble - they have a vested interest to draw the attention of Black people away from the "Mission Accomplished Zones' in which previous "racial conflicts" drove in a voting movement that resulted in these place packed with "favorable people in power", yet the Black populace remains underdeveloped.
For the fleet of "MegaBuses" that are sent from Atlanta over to Ferguson on a frequent basis to run "Black Voter Empowerment" activism - - the long bus ride westward gives the Civil Rights propagandists a captive audience to make certain inferences: "Of the White folks in a small town have been exposed for who they are - what Black person in their right mind would assume that even after we won local offices, they are not doing the very same things to under cut us at the state level in our home state?"
But looking at the stacked deck of morons currently dominating Congress, the civil rightsmpropagandists would be entirely correct. Ferguson is but a small fractal "tile" whose structure and functions embody the fundamental rule "as above, so below, as within, so without"
