As usual, the most powerful defense trumps all attackers.
Think you will ever see enemy drones attacking Wash DC...??
There is no injustice in Warsocialism - sleep well...
Yep, I do http://youtu.be/paWiZ2Y8fRg
BD what you don't get is that there's a right amount of what you call "defense." Sole superpowers have traditionally destroyed themselves by spending too much on foreign wars, worst of all very distant wars.
I haven't found the definitive numbers yet, and I never saw it explicitly articulated in the full-spectrum dominance paper(s) - but - I'd wager that the cost of drone warfare is a tiny fraction of the cost of conventional military operations and can be sustained for a very long time once the lily-pad support system is fully in place.
BD could delete the entire Fuzzlamic Jihadist threat for under 1% of what the USA has recently spent, without risking a single ground troop, and come out with a totally decisive victory. And you can bet there would be no more tugging on Superman's cape for many years to come...
BD is fantasizing. The engineered wahabist cult from whence all this jihadist palaver emerges is a Saudi royal production, as well as, the systematic sapping and mining of their oceans of oil with cobalt salted high-explosives. Not only will these people not permit their own extermination, they will not permit the violent appropriation of their resource wealth. They've given you the middle finger by implementing the means to render their oil useless for millenia.
Ruthless intelligence and violent game theory is not the exclusive province of the anglosphere BD, and you would do well to understand that not everyone else on the face of the earth is ass-up/face-down trembling in fear of the psychopathocracy.
It would be interesting to know that, C.
Presently I don't even know whether the goal is to make the military affordable, or to use mil expense as a conduit for draining off the entire wealth of the country.
