strategic-culture | In her 2012 book Area 51 Uncensored,
journalist Annie Jacobson provided lengthy detail of the Cold War
experiments, aerospace technology and nuclear bomb testing that took
place at Area 51 during this period which largely put the earlier social
engineer experiment of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds emergency broadcast
read aloud in 1938. The mass panic that ensued the broadcast provided
an insight into the levers of mass psychology that certain social
engineers drooled over.
What could account for observed UFO phenomena?
In an interview with NPR Radio, Jacobson stated: “The
UFO craze began in the summer of 1947. Several months later, the G2
intelligence, which was the Army intelligence corps at the time, spent
an enormous amount of time and treasure seeking out two former Third
Reich aerospace designers named Walter and Reimar Horten who had
allegedly created [a] flying disc. … American intelligence agents fanned
out across Europe seeking the Horton brothers to find out if, in fact,
they had made this flying disc.”
During WWII, the Horten brothers were associated with the Austrian scientist Viktor Shauberger whose innovative designs
for implosion (vs explosion) flying technology utilized water currents,
and electromagnetism to generate flying machines that by all surviving
accounts flew faster than the speed of sound. While much of his research
was confiscated and classified by victor nations after WWII,
Schauberger was promised government sponsorship in America which induced
the inventor to move across the ccean where Canada’s Avro Arrow program
sought his designs for supersonic nuclear missile delivery aircraft.
When he discovered that his work would only be used for military
purposes, Schauberger pushed back and over the course of several months,
his patents were essentially stolen, and he returned to Austria to die
broke and depressed in 1958.
The Strategic Importance of Space
It was never a secret that the post-1971 globalized world order
championed by the likes of Sir Henry Kissinger, David and Laurence
Rockefeller and other Malthusians throughout the 20th century
was always designed to collapse. With the mass shock therapy that such a
collapse would impose upon the world, it was believed that a
deconstruction of the Abrahamic traditions that governed western society
for 2000 years could be accomplished and a new society could be
socially engineered in the image of the Brave New (depopulated) World
that would live like happy sheep forever under the grip of a hereditary
alpha class and their technocratic managers. The story of the
Tavistock-led attack on scientific progress is told brilliantly in the
2010 Lpac film The Destruction of NASA.
The only problem these social engineers have encountered in recent
years is the re-emergence of actual statesmen who are unwilling to
sacrifice their people and traditions on the altar of a new global Gaia
cult. Such defenders of humanity’s better traditions have launched the
multipolar alliance and have driven a policy of long-term growth and
advance scientific and technological progress which is embodied
brilliantly by the New Silk Road, and its extensions to the Arctic. The
most exciting aspect of this New Silk Road/Multipolar Paradigm is the
leap into space exploration as the new frontier of human
self-development which has not been seen since the days of President
Kennedy.
With China and Russia signing a pact to jointly develop lunar bases and the NASA Artemis Accords
calling for international cooperation on Lunar and Mars resource
development/industrialization, the age of unlimited growth that was lost
with the LSD-driven mass psychosis of 1968’s “live in the now” paradigm
shift may finally be recaptured. Programs designed to put humanity’s
focus on real objective threats like Asteroid collisions, and solar-induced new ice ages are seriously being discussed by leaders of Russia, China and the USA.
There are billions of suns and potentially billions of galaxies, and
chances are there is indeed life on many of the planets orbiting some of
the stars within our growing, creative universe… and there is also a
fair chance that cognitive life has also emerged on some of those
planets. The best way to find out is not to sit at home while the world
economic system collapses under a controlled disintegration thinking
about Rockefeller-funded conspiracy theories, but rather to fight to
revive humanity’s open system destiny starting with a cooperative space
program to extend human culture and economy to the Moon and Mars, and
then onto other planetary bodies followed by missions to deep space.
If other civilizations exist, maybe it is our duty to take up the torch left to us by JFK and go find them.
space | A newly unveiled company with some high-profile backers — including
filmmaker James Cameron and Google co-founder Larry Page — is set to
announce plans to mine near-Earth asteroids for resources such as
precious metals and water.
Planetary Resources, Inc. intends
to sell these materials, generating a healthy profit for itself. But it
also aims to advance humanity's exploration and exploitation of space,
with resource extraction serving as an anchor industry that helps our
species spread throughout the solar system.
"If you look at space resources, the logical next step is to go to the near-Earth asteroids,"
Planetary Resources co-founder and co-chairman Eric Anderson told
SPACE.com. "They're just so valuable, and so easy to reach
energetically. Near-Earth asteroids really are the low-hanging fruit of the solar system."
Planetary Resources is officially unveiling its asteroid-mining plans at
1:30 p.m. EDT (1730 GMT) Tuesday (April 24) during a news conference at
Seattle's Museum of Flight.
Platinum-group
metals — ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, and platinum —
are found in low concentrations on Earth and can be tough to access,
which is why they're so expensive. In fact, Anderson said, they don't
occur naturally in Earth's crust, having been deposited on our planet
over the eons by asteroid impacts.
"We're
going to go to the source," Anderson said. "The platinum-group metals
are many orders of magnitude easier to access in the high-concentration
platinum asteroids than they are in the Earth's crust."
And there are a lot of precious metals up
there waiting to be mined. A single platinum-rich space rock 1,650 feet
(500 meters) wide contains the equivalent of all the platinum-group
metals ever mined throughout human history, company officials said.
"When
the availability of these metals increase[s], the cost will reduce on
everything including defibrillators, hand-held devices, TV and computer
monitors, catalysts," Planetary Resources co-founder and co-chairman
Peter Diamandis said in a statement. "And with the abundance of these
metals, we’ll be able to use them in mass production, like in automotive
fuel cells."
Asteroid water could help astronauts stay hydrated
and grow food, provide radiation shielding for spaceships and be broken
into its constituent hydrogen and oxygen, the chief components of rocket
fuel, Anderson said.
Planetary Resources hopes its mining efforts lead to the establishment of in-space "gas stations" that could help many spacecraft refuel, from Earth-orbiting satellites to Mars-bound vessels.
"We're really talking about enabling the exploration of deep space," Anderson said. "That's what really gets me excited." [Future Visions of Human Spaceflight]
In
addition to Page, Planetary Resources counts among its investors Ross
Perot Jr., chairman of The Perot Group and son of the former
presidential candidate; Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google; K.
Ram Shriram, Google board of directors founding member; and Charles
Simonyi, chairman of Intentional Software Corp., who has taken two
tourist flights to the International Space Station.
Cameron serves the company as an adviser, as does former NASA space shuttle astronaut Tom Jones.
wired | Great catch by Phil Ewing at Navy Times' Scoop Deck blog:
the Russian navy has just declassified its records of Cold War UFO
sightings. Turns out “50 percent of UFO encounters are connected with
oceans. Fifteen [percent] more -- with lakes. So UFOs tend to stick to
the water,” one Russian officer explained.
"On
several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects
moving at incredible speed," a sub commander recalled. "Calculations
showed speeds of about 230 knots, or 400 kph. Speeding so fast is a
challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It
was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There’s only one
explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in
development."
Insert jab about superior U.S. Navy submarine technology, here.
All
joking aside, in one alleged incident in 1982, three navy diver
trainees reportedly died pursuing what survivors described as "a group
of humanoid creatures dressed in silvery suits" in Baikal, the world's
deepest lake.
downthechupacabrahole | Located in southeastern Siberia, towards Mongolia’s border, sits the planet’s oldest and deepest lake. Nearly one-quarter of Earth’s fresh water is contained here. Astonishing depths of over five thousand feet have been measured in certain areas. A myriad of unique plant and animal species inhabit the frigid territory, many of which exist nowhere else in the world. Scientists estimate this massive basin formed as an ancient rift valley more than twenty-five million years ago. For centuries, Lake Baikal has been home to a plethora of unexplained phenomena. Locals claim countless peculiar UFO encounters frequently occur within this remote region of Russia. Some theorize an extraterrestrial base is lurking beneath the picturesque exterior.
One of the most bizarre reports occurred in 1982 during a routine Soviet military training dive. While navigating the foreboding aquatic realm, Navy personnel noticed anomalous figures swimming nearby. Perplexed, they watched in bewilderment as several curious creatures approached them. Despite being stationed at a depth of over one hundred and sixty-four feet, these humanoids wore no modern equipment. Each donned tight-fitting metallic suits complete with a helmet-like apparatus completely covering their heads. Upon closer inspection, troopers noticed the aliens were nearly ten feet tall. However, the colossal loch-dwellers soon disappeared back into the murky abyss.
Following this eerie run-in, the
intrigued commander ordered his recruits to capture a subaqueous alien.
Seven Scuba divers entered the glacial lake and began their harrowing
descent. Soon after navigating an elevator of declining temperatures,
multiple entities emerged. One frogman attempted to catch the unearthly
specimen in a large net. At that moment, all hell broke loose for the
unsuspecting flotilla group. Suddenly the nonhuman brutes fought back by
shooting intense sonar waves from strange devices. A powerful force
rendered every crew member unconscious and rapidly propelled them to the
surface.
Catapulting upwards
from extreme depths can have devastating effects on our bodies,
resulting in a condition often called “the bends”. Three of the squadron
were seriously injured but did not succumb to this affliction. The
remaining fellows needed immediate transfer to a decompression chamber.
Unfortunately, there was only one chamber in the region and it was
designed for merely two people at a time. Out of sheer desperation, four
men entered simultaneously in an attempt to save their lives.
Tragically, this last-ditch effort did not go as planned. Three
individuals perished as a result of their superior’s hasty decision.
Those who survived the terrifying ordeal would be left with
life-altering disabilities.
Following this harrowing catastrophe, KGB
agents ceased further attempts of USO (Unidentified Submerged Object)
acquisition. For decades the horrifying events which transpired remained
hidden by high-ranking authorities. Vladimir Azhazha, former Soviet
Naval officer and esteemed ufologist, declared Russian government
executives recently released declassified files. In these documents, the
Baikal aquanauts are described in great detail. Unsurprisingly, Navy
commanders had been extensively monitoring numerous underwater vehicles
navigating the lake. Such technological capabilities greatly intrigued
them; if engineers could replicate the vessels’ inconceivable speeds,
unprecedented militaristic advantages would be gained.
Throughout
the eras, Baikal has been no stranger to mysterious UFO activities.
During the late 1950s a TU-104 jet crashed into the lake after it was
pursued by an unknown metallic vehicle. The frantic pilot radioed a
distraught message to air traffic controllers informing them of this
alleged attack. According to informants, all staff on duty at the time
were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements. Numerous community
fisherman attested to viewing the frightening areal attack. Anglers
described how a silver flying saucer chased a plane until it plummeted
into the water and disappeared from their sight. Despite considerable
testimonies, no conclusive evidence or official records of this event
have ever surfaced.
In April of 2009 the enigmatic Siberian sector made
global headlines yet again. Astronauts aboard an international space
station photographed two circular convection breaks, thought to be
produced by enormous aquatic crafts. One was located near the lake’s
center while the other was positioned towards Baikal’s southern end.
Both appeared to be created by something ascending beneath the thick
ice-laden outer layer. The pair of disk-shaped cracks were perfectly
symmetrical and astonishingly measure three miles in diameter. These
immense fractures were so precise making them impossible to manufacture
or replicate. Certain researchers believe the NASA-produced images are
evidence of spaceships emerging from the dark waters below.
wikipedia | The Nommo or Nummo are primordial ancestral spirits in Dogon religion and cosmogony (sometimes referred to as demi deities) venerated by the Dogon people of Mali.[1] The word Nommos is derived from a Dogon word meaning "to make one drink." Nommos are usually described as amphibious, hermaphroditic,
fish-like creatures. Folk art depictions of Nommos show creatures with
humanoid upper torsos, legs/feet, and a fish-like lower torso and tail.
Nommos are also referred to as "Masters of the Water", "the Monitors",
and "the Teachers". Nommo can be a proper name of an individual or can
refer to the group of spirits as a whole. For purposes of this article,
"Nommo" refers to a specific individual and "Nommos" is used to
reference the group of beings.[2]
Dogon religion and creation mythology [fr]
says that Nommo was the first living creature created by the sky god
Amma. Shortly after his creation, Nommo underwent a transformation and
multiplied into four pairs of twins. One of the twins rebelled against
the universal order created by Amma. To restore order to his creation,
Amma sacrificed another of the Nommo progeny, whose body was dismembered
and scattered throughout the universe.[3]
This dispersal of body parts is seen by the Dogon as the source for the
proliferation of Binu shrines throughout the Dogons' traditional
territory; wherever a body part fell, a shrine was erected.
In the latter part of the 1940s, French anthropologists Marcel Griaule and Germaine Dieterlen
(who had been working with the Dogon since 1931) wrote that they were
the recipients of additional, secret mythologies, concerning the Nommo.
The Dogon reportedly related to Griaule and Dieterlen a belief that the
Nommos were inhabitants of a world circling the star Sirius (see the main article on the Dogon for a discussion of their astronomical knowledge).
The Nommos descended from the sky in a vessel accompanied by fire and
thunder. After arriving, the Nommos created a reservoir of water and
subsequently dived into the water. The Dogon legends state that the
Nommos required a watery environment in which to live. According to the
myth related to Griaule and Dieterlen: "The Nommo divided his body among
men to feed them; that is why it is also said that as the universe "had
drunk of his body," the Nommo also made men drink. He gave all his life
principles to human beings."
The Nommo are also thought to be the origin of the first Hogon.[4][5]
NYPost | The solar system that humanity calls home may have once been
inhabited by an extinct species of spacefaring aliens, a top scientist
has suggested.
A space scientist has suggested ancient extraterrestrials could have
lived on Mars, Venus or even Earth before disappearing without a trace.
nautil.us | A species can mitigate risk by spreading, decentralizing, and seeding
as much real estate as possible. In this context, hyper-advanced life
is going to look for ways to get rid of physical locality and to
maximize redundancy and flexibility. The quantum realm offers good
options. The cosmos is already packed with electromagnetic energy.
Today, at any instant, about 400 photons of cosmic microwave radiation
are streaming through any cubic centimeter of free space. They
collectively have less energy than ordinary particles such as protons
and electrons, but vastly outnumber them. That’s a lot of potential data
carriers. Furthermore, we could imagine that these photons are cleverly
quantum-mechanically entangled to help with error control.
By
storing its essential data in photons, life could give itself a
distributed backup system. And it could go further, manipulating new
photons emitted by stars to dictate how they interact with matter.
Fronts of electromagnetic radiation could be reaching across the cosmos
to set in motion chains of interstellar or planetary chemistry with
exquisite timing, exploiting wave interference and excitation energies
in atoms and molecules. The science-fiction writer Stanisław Lem put
forward a similar idea, involving neutrinos rather than photons, in the
novel His Master’s Voice.
That’s one way that life could disappear into ordinary physics. But even these ideas skirt the most disquieting extrapolations.
Toward the end of Carl Sagan’s 1985 science-fiction novel Contact, the protagonist follows the suggestion of an extraterrestrial to study transcendental numbers. After computing to 1020
places, she finds a clearly artificial message embedded in the digits
of this fundamental number. In other words, part of the fabric of the
universe is a product of intelligence or is perhaps even life itself.
It’s
a great mind-bending twist for a book. Perhaps hyper-advanced life
isn’t just external. Perhaps it’s already all around. It is embedded in
what we perceive to be physics itself, from the root behavior of
particles and fields to the phenomena of complexity and emergence.
In other words, life might not just be in the equations. It might be the equations.
There were three articles written in UFO Magazine in 1998 that concerned a fictional character named Sedge Masters. They are worth reading. (May/June 1998, September 1998, and December 1998.) The author of these pieces is a man named Greg Halifax."
"We have reason to believe the set of stories(3, I think) are only slightly fictionalized versions of a source's experiences writing up records for the archives at WPAFB. Specifically, ever hear of Zodiac, which is supposed to be the true name?"
I haven't read the articles in question but the context kind of it seemed to me that the MJ12 story is implied to be sort of a controlled release version of details of a group that was actually called Zodiac(12 signs of the zodiac?)
projectcamelotportal |5.21.21 BREAKING NEWS: According to a key
source: Mark Mccandlish offered to give testimony to the Senate
Intelligence Committee and contacted Marco Rubio on this just prior to
his death… His potential testimony along with his obsession with
building the ARV probably got him killed. Just as it got Gordon Novel
killed. And James Allen the director of the film Zero Point (all about
Mark McCandlish). This is no distraction or disclosure dog and pony
show… This is also about THE TRUMP CARD that Trump is holding—his
ties to Nikola Tesla and this tech. And this is all about bringing
Zero Point energy into the public and the battle to keep it quiet.
–KERRY CASSIDY
PROJECT CAMELOT
According to a source the Redding City Coroner said there are 5
different agencies looking into the death of Mark McCandlish. Judging
from the past history of intel agencies and “suicided” victims it is
highly likely that at least one of those agencies is right now working
hard to come up with a feasible set of lies. The objective would be to
convince the general public that Mark was killed by some “lone gunman”
or chose to commit suicide “suicided” as opposed to what really happened
which all signs point to a typical Cabal-styled hit job.
Mark McCandlish was a highly refined, passionate engineer and
designer whose illustrations were intuitive and detailed while at the
same time technically accurate. A person who spoke to him the night
hefore he died indicated he was tired but upbeat and focused on moving
forward with his projects. Having served in the American military he
felt it was his duty to testify should the opportunity arise, before the
Senate Intelligence Committee. His contact with Marco Rubio is said to
have been ongoing. He wanted the truth about UFOs and zero point energy
(some call it energy form the vacuum) to come out and that the people
have a right to know.
Update. 5.22.21
According to another source Fred Bell also was also killed and had
knowledge of this tech (and of time travel which is intimately connected
to how UFOs fly). As does Sean David Morton who they just took back
into prison. Sean was writing a series of books based on whistleblower
testimony and papers given to him by his lawyer….With advanced cancer
Sean appears to be targeted in the same way. Sean was about to release
information all about time travel in his 4th book when he was arrested a
few years ago.
The list goes on with people and inventors who have died or been
threatened surrounding the story about Zero Point Energy or energy from
the vacuum or “free energy”. Another example is former Mars astronaut,
Brian O’Leary was killed by a fast-acting cancer in part for
interviewing and writing a book about this energy called the Energy
Solution Revolution https://www.amazon.com/Energy-Solution-Revolution-Socio-Political-Suppression/dp/0979917646
and the list goes on.
It is worth noting Mark was killed 33 years from when Brad Sorenson
first saw the ARV in a hangar (either at Norton Air Force Base or if the
story posted here is true, at the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks facility).
The 33 year connection is another indicator of the stamp of the
Illuminati on Mark’s death in addition to the method of death which is
another trademark “shotgun to the head”.
Excerpt from book: SPACE WARP PROPULSION-PART 2 Alien Reproduction Vehicle SANTOSH DANDIN (a real name?)
It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that Marco Rubio and
the sudden push to release highly sanitized versions of the UFO/UAP
story is coming from somewhere deep in the intelligence community and
deep state. If you are willing to suspend disbelief momentarily and
consider Trump’s close relationship to his uncle who was instrumental in
getting Nikola Tesla’s tech into the hands of the deep state this
sudden push becomes clear. What the Cabal seem to be doing is racing
against time to “one-up” Trump and take control of the narrative to spin
it where they want, before he releases this tech into the public. Once
he wins back the Presidency by way of proving vote fraud and outside
interference… “A digital Pearl Harbor” as Juan O. Savin is fond of
saying Trump would be in a perfect position to literally change the
world. When Trump (who is still Commander-in-Chief and has the nuclear
codes, is reinstated, in theory the tribunals would start against the
human traffickers-adrenochrome junkies of the deep state. At some point
Trump would during his last 4 years then bring his “trump card” forward
which is ZERO POINT energy… Zero Point is considered the keys to the
kingdom encompassing UNLIMITED and free access to energy that makes all
things possible including travel through wormholes, aka Portal
technology aka time travel. Greening the deserts, unlimited access to
food, water at no cost and the end of the fossil fuel stranglehold on
our economies….
Not to mention weapons technology that is of course already in the
hands of the Secret Space Program … but that access would be worldwide
and in the hands of our enemies as well. Some would say it already
is….This is of course the double-edged sword that surrounds the release
of this technology and why in part, the military industrial complex has
fought so long to keep it all secret. But the secrecy has forced human
society to split with the majority of humans living lives of desperation
and growing limitation while the secret government/secret space program
has access to unlimited wealth and prosperity and what some of my
witnesses have said are as many as 10,000 years in advance of the
average person.
So this recent push for a type of disclosure is another effort to
OWN THE NARRATIVE and arguably could involve A FAKE ALIEN INVASION
staged by the military so that they can get out from under the karmic
burden of 70 years of secrecy while people lived lives dependent on
scarcity and need, trading humans for alien tech and much more….
FAS | An extraordinary 95 percent of all Americans have at least heard or
read something about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), and 57 percent
believe they are real. (1)
Former US Presidents Carter and Reagan claim to have seen a UFO.
UFOlogists--a neologism for UFO buffs--and private UFO organizations are
found throughout the United States. Many are convinced that the US
Government, and particularly CIA, are engaged in a massive conspiracy
and coverup of the issue. The idea that CIA has secretly concealed its
research into UFOs has been a major theme of UFO buffs since the modern
UFO phenomena emerged in the late 1940s. (2)
In late 1993, after being pressured by UFOlogists for the release of additional CIA information on UFOs, (3)
DCI R. James Woolsey ordered another review of all Agency files on
UFOs. Using CIA records compiled from that review, this study traces
CIA interest and involvement in the UFO controversy from the late 1940s
to 1990. It chronologically examines the Agency's efforts to solve the
mystery of UFOs, its programs that had an impact on UFO sightings, and
its attempts to conceal CIA involvement in the entire UFO issue. What
emerges from this examination is that, while Agency concern over UFOs
was substantial until the early 1950s, CIA has since paid only limited
and peripheral attention to the phenomena.
Background
The emergence in 1947 of the Cold War confrontation between
the United States and the Soviet Union also saw the first wave of UFO
sightings. The first report of a "flying saucer" over the United
States came on 24 June 1947, when Kenneth Arnold, a private pilot and
reputable businessman, while looking for a downed plane sighted nine
disk-shaped objects near Mt. Rainier, Washington, traveling at an
estimated speed of over 1,000 mph. Arnold's report was followed by a
flood of additional sightings, including reports from military and
civilian pilots and air traffic controllers all over the United States. (4)
In 1948, Air Force Gen. Nathan Twining, head of the Air Technical
Service Command, established Project SIGN (initially named Project
SAUCER) to collect, collate, evaluate, and distribute within the
government all information relating to such sightings, on the premise
that UFOs might be real and of national security concern. (5)
The Technical Intelligence Division of the Air Material Command
(AMC) at Wright Field (later Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) in Dayton,
Ohio, assumed control of Project SIGN and began its work on 23 January
1948. Although at first fearful that the objects might be Soviet secret
weapons, the Air Force soon concluded that UFOs were real but easily
explained and not extraordinary. The Air Force report found that almost
all sightings stemmed from one or more of three causes: mass hysteria
and hallucination, hoax, or misinterpretation of known objects.
Nevertheless, the report recommended continued military intelligence
control over the investigation of all sightings and did not rule out the
possibility of extraterrestrial phenomena. (6)
Amid mounting UFO sightings, the Air Force continued to collect
and evaluate UFO data in the late 1940s under a new project, GRUDGE,
which tried to alleviate public anxiety over UFOs via a public relations
campaign designed to persuade the public that UFOs constituted nothing
unusual or extraordinary. UFO sightings were explained as balloons,
conventional aircraft, planets, meteors, optical illusions, solar
reflections, or even "large hailstones." GRUDGE officials found no
evidence in UFO sightings of advanced foreign weapons design or
development, and they concluded that UFOs did not threaten US security.
They recommended that the project be reduced in scope because the very
existence of Air Force official interest encouraged people to believe in
UFOs and contributed to a "war hysteria" atmosphere. On 27 December
1949, the Air Force announced the project's termination. (7)
With increased Cold War tensions, the Korean war, and continued
UFO sightings, USAF Director of Intelligence Maj. Gen. Charles P. Cabell
ordered a new UFO project in 1952. Project BLUE BOOK became the major
Air Force effort to study the UFO phenomenon throughout the 1950s and
1960s. (8)
The task of identifying and explaining UFOs continued to fall on the
Air Material Command at Wright-Patterson. With a small staff, the Air
Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) tried to persuade the public that
UFOs were not extraordinary. (9)
Projects SIGN, GRUDGE, and BLUE BOOK set the tone for the official US
Government position regarding UFOs for the next 30 years.
Early CIA Concerns, 1947-52
CIA closely monitored the Air Force effort, aware of the
mounting number of sightings and increasingly concerned that UFOs might
pose a potential security threat. (10) Given the distribution of the sightings, CIA officials in 1952 questioned whether they might reflect "midsummer madness.'' (11)
Agency officials accepted the Air Force's conclusions about UFO
reports, although they concluded that "since there is a remote
possibility that they may be interplanetary aircraft, it is necessary to
investigate each sighting." (12)
A massive buildup of sightings over the United States in 1952,
especially in July, alarmed the Truman administration. On 19 and 20
July, radar scopes at Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force
Base tracked mysterious blips. On 27 July, the blips reappeared. The
Air Force scrambled interceptor aircraft to investigate, but they found
nothing. The incidents, however, caused headlines across the country.
The White House wanted to know what was happening, and the Air Force
quickly offered the explanation that the radar blips might be the result
of "temperature inversions." Later, a Civil Aeronautics Administration
investigation confirmed that such radar blips were quite common and were
caused by temperature inversions. (13)
Although it had monitored UFO reports for at least three years,
CIA reacted to the new rash of sightings by forming a special study
group within the Office of Scientific Intelligence (OSI) and the Office
of Current Intelligence (OCI) to review the situation. (14)
Edward Tauss, acting chief of OSI's Weapons and Equipment Division,
reported for the group that most UFO sightings could be easily
explained. Nevertheless, he recommended that the Agency continue
monitoring the problem, in coordination with ATIC. He also urged that
CIA conceal its interest from the media and the public, "in view of
their probable alarmist tendencies" to accept such interest as
confirming the existence of UFOs. (15)
Upon receiving the report, Deputy Director for Intelligence (DDI)
Robert Amory, Jr. assigned responsibility for the UFO investigations to
OSI's Physics and Electronics Division, with A. Ray Gordon as the
officer in charge. (16)
Each branch in the division was to contribute to the investigation,
and Gordon was to coordinate closely with ATIC. Amory, who asked the
group to focus on the national security implications of UFOs, was
relaying DCI Walter Bedell Smith's concerns. (17)
Smith wanted to know whether or not the Air Force investigation of
flying saucers was sufficiently objective and how much more money and
manpower would be necessary to determine the cause of the small
percentage of unexplained flying saucers. Smith believed "there was
only one chance in 10,000 that the phenomenon posed a threat to the
security of the country, but even that chance could not be taken."
According to Smith, it was CIA's responsibility by statute to coordinate
the intelligence effort required to solve the problem. Smith also
wanted to know what use could be made of the UFO phenomenon in
connection with US psychological warfare efforts. (18)
Led by Gordon, the CIA Study Group met with Air Force officials
at Wright-Patterson and reviewed their data and findings. The Air Force
claimed that 90 percent of the reported sightings were easily accounted
for. The other 10 percent were characterized as "a number of
incredible reports from credible observers." The Air Force rejected the
theories that the sightings involved US or Soviet secret weapons
development or that they involved "men from Mars"; there was no evidence
to support these concepts. The Air Force briefers sought to explain
these UFO reports as the misinterpretation of known objects or little
understood natural phenomena. (19) Air Force and CIA officials agreed that outside knowledge of Agency interest in UFOs would make the problem more serious. (20) This concealment of CIA interest contributed greatly to later charges of a CIA conspiracy and coverup.
The CIA Study Group also searched the Soviet press for UFO
reports, but found none, causing the group to conclude that the absence
of reports had to have been the result of deliberate Soviet Government
policy. The group also envisioned the USSR's possible use of UFOs as a
psychological warfare tool. In addition, they worried that, if the US
air warning system should be deliberately overloaded by UFO sightings,
the Soviets might gain a surprise advantage in any nuclear attack. (21)
Because of the tense Cold War situation and increased Soviet
capabilities, the CIA Study Group saw serious national security concerns
in the flying saucer situation. The group believed that the Soviets
could use UFO reports to touch off mass hysteria and panic in the United
States. The group also believed that the Soviets might use UFO
sightings to overload the US air warning system so that it could not
distinguish real targets from phantom UFOs. H. Marshall Chadwell,
Assistant Director of OSI, added that he considered the problem of such
importance "that it should be brought to the attention of the National
Security Council, in order that a communitywide coordinated effort
towards it solution may be initiated." (22)
Chadwell briefed DCI Smith on the subject of UFOs in December
1952. He urged action because he was convinced that "something was
going on that must have immediate attention" and that "sightings of
unexplained objects at great altitudes and traveling at high speeds in
the vicinity of major US defense installations are of such nature that
they are not attributable to natural phenomena or known types of aerial
vehicles." He drafted a memorandum from the DCI to the National
Security Council (NSC) and a proposed NSC Directive establishing the
investigation of UFOs as a priority project throughout the intelligence
and the defense research and development community. (23) Chadwell also urged Smith to establish an external research project of top-level scientists to study the problem of UFOs. (24)
After this briefing, Smith directed DDI Amory to prepare a NSC
Intelligence Directive (NSCID) for submission to the NSC on the need to
continue the investigation of UFOs and to coordinate such investigations
with the Air Force. (25)
greyfalcon | "In 1947, Banister reported the discovery of a 'flying disk' in Twin Falls, Idaho, according to a 11 July 1947 "Associated Press" report. The saucer measured roughly 30.5’ across, and "appeared to have been turned out by a machine," possibly as a prototype [according to Banister].
Suspects in the John Kennedy assassination had a pronounced knack for stumbling onto the "unexplained" flying disks.
It is a commentary on the UFO/mind control/intelligence connection that the counterterrorist unit of the FBI already tied to Shaw and Crisman, Division Five—"the Nazi division"—also employed Guy Banister, and has been largely responsible for the development of a form of remote brain manipulation known as Ultrasonic Intra-Cerebral Control.
So once again, the plot thickens. Now the subject of mind control surfaces. There seems to be no obvious correlation amongst these amazing stories and their surprising facts. But can we connect the dots? Or is this just another fantasy offered up by hyper-active minds fond of conspiracy theories? On the other hand, could these astounding connections be better explained as evidence of "disinformation" spun by master intelligence officers with a checkered past?
Roswell and the Reich
Connecting the timing of Banister’s story to the Roswell incident—the seminal UFO incident raging in the press commenced a mere three days earlier—it seems extraordinary to contemplate that the only connection between these incidents is purely an "alien UFO encounter". As alternative science and history researcher, Joseph P. Farrell, points out convincingly in his book "Roswell and the Reich: The Nazi Connection", when the facts are painstakingly evaluated, the evidence for a "spacecraft" manned by extraterrestrials is choosing the least likely explanation. This may be the story officials want us to believe. However, it remains unwedded to almost all of the best-known facts.
Even Nick Redfern, a noted UFologist and author, recommends Farrell’s carefully written work by citing the "publishers blurb" in his blog on 10 February 2010.
In "Roswell and the Reich," Farrell presents a very different scenario of what crashed in Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947, and why the U.S. military has continued its cover-up to this day. By means of a meticulous review of the best-known Roswell research from both UFO-ET advocates and skeptics alike, as well as some not-so-well known Roswell research, Farrell presents a fascinating case sure to disturb both ET believer and skeptic alike, namely, that what crashed may have been representative of an independent postwar Nazi power, an extraterritorial Reich monitoring its old enemy, America, and its continuing developments of the very technologies it confiscated from Germany at the end of the war.
Farrell’s book is not bed-time reading, and this one is particularly difficult because it reads like a detailed legal brief, examining the testimony meticulously, invalidating witnesses, and ruling out evidence with the precision of a scalpel. Nevertheless, after one has plodded through it, the conclusion is compelling. There are no reasons to postulate an extraterrestrial event at all. There were no bodies—and even if there were, there are no logical arguments to suppose them extraterrestrial. While there were undeniable sightings and even extraordinary artifacts (various metals with no similitude to anything experimental in western laboratories, let alone in use), there was no solid rationale to suppose anything other than a terrestrial explanation. Furthermore, the probability of infiltration by military intelligence personnel into the Roswell research community was undeniable. The most significant and credible authors all had intelligence backgrounds! Was this a case of the foxes being left to guard the hen house? If so, perhaps they knew where the bodies were buried—except the alien bodies so it seems.
There are consequently two datasets that any theory of the Roswell Incident must seek to rationalize: (1) the debris, the description of which is consistent across time and various witnesses as has been seen in the previous pages, and (2) the bodies, the description of which is not consistent over time nor over several witnesses in spite of claims to the contrary, and moreover whose witnesses have in turn either been impeached, or shown to be based upon second-hand-and-dead man’s testimony in many instances, or whom other data has revealed were unlikely to have been in the area in order actually to see such bodies.
In summary, any theory that seeks to explain Roswell must answer two incontrovertible facts: There were extraordinary, unknown metals with mysterious properties discovered on 8 July 1947 at Roswell that absolutely originate from a source outside of America. Secondly, the evidence Farrell recounts argues that no bodies were found at the crash site. If intelligent beings were flying these crafts, they were guiding them remotely. [Not exactly outlandish given that all of the V1 and V2 rockets that hit London suburbs were un-piloted aircraft].
Farrell progresses toward concluding the matter with this statement:
"By July of 1947, there were abundant clues that were beginning to be pieced together by American intelligence that Nazism had survived not only in isolated enclaves, but that it was an organized international force. And by the mid-1950s, it was abundantly clear to the U.S. Air Force that those Nazis had continued to research independently their most extraordinary projects and sciences, and that they were making penetrations into the most sensitive areas of the American military-industrial-intelligence complex".
Likewise, from the first reactions of Roswell in 1947 to the Robertson Panel in 1953, not only Farrell but Constantine assures us that the experts had an agenda to keep these military secrets "under wraps". It was their concerted opinion to educate the public in what the experts wanted it to believe—for the sake of national interests. Keeping the public calm was best achieved by distributing the disinformation of outer space visitations—a position beginning in 1960 the government would reverse. Meanwhile, better to keep the whole possibility of Nazis buried and control the masses however it could. At the time, inventing an alien religion for the kooks was not a bad option.
Therefore, The Robertson Panel concluded:
"This education could be accomplished by mass media, [especially] television, motion pictures and popular articles". The panel advised that mental health professionals familiar with mob psychology should design the "education" program. It also recommended that UFO organizations should be surveilled "because of their potentially great influence on mass thinking if widespread sightings should occur. The apparent irresponsibility and the possible use of such groups for subversive purposes should be kept in mind".
As a result of these recommendations UFO enthusiasts would be watched carefully. Who knew how much trouble they might stir up? After all, the Panel concluded that the so-called Foo-fighters experienced by Allied pilots toward the end of World War II were probably nothing more than an exotic form of technology developed by the Nazis and/or Japanese with no real risk to national security. No less an authority than the famous combat pilot Jimmy Doolittle [known for the 1942 Tokyo raid] cited this conclusion in his report requested by the Panel.
So it was agreed then: It is best to keep the public in the dark while we play catch up with the Nazis—whoever they are and wherever they might be.
So is it that thousands of Nazis and their technologies escaped Europe and made their way to the Americas. The argument that rogue German scientists found it advantageous to demonstrate their extraordinary new flying machines to frighten their American adversaries surely seems far-fetched. But the depth of analysis provided by numerous researchers hints strongly otherwise.
However, while the source of flying saucers in the U.S. may be debated—whether they were truly German in origin, came from beyond the stars, or didn’t exist at all—there is no doubt that dozens of the worst war criminals came to the United States as the special guests of the American government. As a result, America would never be the same again.
greyfalcon | During the course of researching his best-selling book "The Hunt for Zero Point", Nick Cook stumbled upon World War II era evidence for a secret Nazi Weapon that came to be known as the “Nazi Bell” device. This device was constructed by a scientific team reporting to SS General Hans Kammler under a veil of secrecy deeper than even that of the Nazi nuclear research.
While Cook’s research yielded little information about the specific design or application of the Nazi Bell device, his sources indicated that it apparently was able create a variety of startling effects on nearby objects. It has been speculated that the Bell device was designed to use high-speed, counter-rotating components filled with specialized materials and energized by electromagnetic energy to induce “torsion” effects and thus control gravity and other significant effects.
John Dering -- a physicist specializing advanced directed energy, nonlinear electrodynamics, and new energy sources -- has further reported on a “Rhine Valley” facility and device. He believes this to have been an actual wartime prototype deployment of a successor to the Nazi Bell experiments, which were carried out in the Wenceslas Mine research lab in occupied Poland. While the Bell experiment was focused on developing a radical new propulsion technology, the little-known Rhine Valley experiment may have been a last-ditch attempt to weaponize the Bell’s dangerous side effect for use against Allied forces.
Dering speculates that the German WWII research was intended to create a powerful propulsion effect by engineering application of Einstein’s Unified Field Theory (UFT) equations. Within the 1929 version of the Einstein UFT equations, a linkage is found between the “Vector Magnetic Potential” and Torsion. Put simply, in the Unified Field Theory, the effects of curved space-time (resulting from a massive body, like the Earth) can locally offset by creating Torsion. Thus electromagnetic interactions are harnessed to induce torsion, which in turn can then null out gravitation. This astounding possibility for gravity control is not predicted in either the Special or General Relativity theories and appears only in the Unified Field equations. Thus, a sort of counteraction to gravity or “anti-gravity” field would be the result. The heavy-duty concrete construction of the test-rig at the Wenceslas Mine -- complete with heavy steel mounting-rings -- bears witness to the massive scale of the forces that the research produced.
While the full purpose and results of neither experiment is completely known, it is obvious that Nazi Bell possessed a great deal of value in terms of secret-weapons. With a range of choices at his disposal at the end of World War II, Hans Kammler considered only the Nazi Bell experiment as being valuable enough to save Germany from the encroaching Allied & Russian forces.
The Bell project [whatever its full purpose] was the only research program in Nazi Germany to carry the designation “War Decisive”. Not even the German atomic bomb or rocket programs were considered of such importance!
Historically speaking, the German’s motive for developing the Nazi Bell device seems apparent. Hitler’s Third Reich had an almost borderline obsession with secret “Wunder” and “Ãœber-weapons” that they felt would give them an advantage against the Allies. The wild success of the V-2 rocket program had emboldened them to undertake the development of even more esoteric weapons projects such as the world’s first jet fighter (the Me-262) and a series of jet-powered Coanda-Effect UFO prototypes (radical disk-shaped VTOL aircraft designs that proved ultimately unsuccessful). The most notable of these was a design by Andreas Epp, which became an inspiration for the later AvroCar experiments of the 1950s.
Neither the Me-262 nor the Coanda-Effect disk devices were ready in time for use against the Allies but nonetheless received the backing of the Third Reich, which supplied them with trained scientists, materials, research funding, and a nearly endless supply of slave-labor with which to build the projects.
It’s not known where the true inspiration for the Nazi Bell device and prior Rhine-Valley experiments originated. But it's possible to speculate that they were trying to leap to a completely electromagnetic propulsion system after realizing the limited potential in controllability and speed from their experimentation with the Coanda-Effect saucer technology. Perhaps some of the more forward-thinking physicists had the ear of Hans Kammler and suggested to him that the time was right to evolve to a technology so far ahead of aerodynamic propulsion of the day that it would give Germany absolute supremacy in the air. Darker possibilities exist, given that the Bell Device researchers appeared very interested in the dangerous and lethal side effects created by exposure to the Bell force field.
Assuming that the Nazi’s had decided on a nearly fictional approach to directly interacting with gravity through electromagnetism, the next logical step that they would have taken is to find a scientific basis to work from. As scientists, Kammler’s team would have quickly realized that this scientific support wouldn’t have come from either Relativity Theory or Quantum Mechanics. But they wouldn’t have had to search very far as the Germans had already reviewed just such a theory to unify Electromagnetism and Gravitational Forces.
On 14 June 1928, a paper was published in German that would have certainly attracted the attention of anyone looking for a quick and easy way to convert from electricity to gravitational force. The English translation of the title is “New possibility for a Unified Field Theory of Gravitation and Electricity”. It contains the beginnings of what later became known as Torsion Theory. Despite the Nazi dislike for Jewish science and culture, this paper was written by a physicist too renowned to be ignored. Quite possibly the World’s greatest physicist -- Albert Einstein!
Starting in the early 1920s, Einstein and others began to speculate that General Relativity (which describes gravitation and space-time) could be modified to include the laws of Maxwell that describe electromagnetism. In essence, Einstein sought to show that the laws of electricity and magnetism could be “unified” with the laws of gravitation. In other words, such a theory would imply that all electrical and magnetic effects and all gravity effects are manifestations of an underlying “Unified Field”. By the late 1920s, Einstein’s papers on Unified Field theory began to be read by physicists interested in exploring experimental verification of his theories.
John Dering has suggested that in addition to a general familiarity with Einstein’s Unified Field Theory from written publications, the Nazi’s may have in fact had “inside information” on the subject. Supposedly, Gerlach had discussed the foundations of this new Unified Field Theory at length with Einstein while the theory was being formulated, and had also collaborated with Einstein during the 1920s on a search for experimental verification. As History tells us, Gerlach was later appointed to the position of “plenipotentiary” for Nazi Fission Research in 1944 by the Reich Research Council giving him top-level scientific connections throughout Germany’s cutting-edge research programs. Nick Cook has also highlighted Gerlach’s connection to the Nazi-Bell project through the testimony of defense journalist Igor Witkowski, who claims to have been shown documents identifying Gerlach’s involvement in the project.
Thus, with the driving goal of building an electromagnetically-powered UFO to replace the less-than-spectacular performance of the Coanda-Effect flying disks, Kammler’s scientific team would have already been familiar with Einstein’s work in gravity and would have had a real basis from the published UFT tensor equations to begin rapid experimentation with a new technology for 1940's era anti-gravity!
ijert | Why is there no physical evidence of these advanced vehicles, if they were built thousands of years ago?
Vimanas for Space Transportation
It was the use of Vimanas as space transportation systems that might
have the clue as to why there is no physical evidence of these ancient
aerospace vehicles.
The Atlanteans, known as Asvins in the Indian writings, were
apparently even more advanced technologically than the Indians. They
possessed Vailixi, similar to Vimanas, that were generally cigar shaped
and had the capability of maneuvering underwater as well as in the atmosphere or even outer space. Other flight vehicles were saucer
shaped, and could apparently travel submerged. It is recorded that
between 12000 to 15,000 years ago, nations deploying Vimanas in space
with lethal weapons were locked in a global war that destroyed almost
all of human life and property on planet earth.
Clinching archeological evidence to this effect has also been found.
Thus, the weaponization of space should not be allowed to happen again.

The FIRST ever Nobel prize for physics should have gone to an Indian
by the name of Shivkur Bapuji Talpade. Talpade was a Sanskrit scholar
who had read Vimanaka Shastra the ancient 7000 years old texts. He flew
an unmanned flying saucer. It was an advanced Vedic Mercury ion plasma ,
imploding and expanding vortex noiseless flying machine , which could
move in all directions. Accelerated pressurised Mercury when spun and
thus heated gives out latent energy. Vedas had a deep understanding of
Quantum physics. The airplane was aloft at nearly 200 metres height and
was airborne for 18 minutes after that the Naksha Rasa accumulators ran
out of energy . This feat was witnessed by more than three thousand
people including Britishers at Chowpatty beach in 1895, eight years
before the Wright brothers.

Instead of praising him, the British ruler threatened him and treated
him in a shabby manner. The owners Rothschild German Jews , of British

for Sanskrit texts and took it away to Germany. Till then they never
realized the worth of Vedic texts. All these texts are still missing.

Description of Rukma Vimana
Rukma Vimana is one of the vimanas from VIMANIKA SHASTHRA is an early
20th century Sanskrit text on aeronautics obtained by psychic
channeling and automatic writing. Vimnas mentioned in ancient Sanskrit
epics were advanced aerodynamic flying vehicles, similar to a rocket.
RUKMA VIMANA had long vertical ducts with fans on the top to suck air from the top and send it down the ducts, generating a lift in the process.Utilization
of electrical energy to operate Electro-Mechanical arrangement to enable
vimana to lift off and accelerate Directional control is through
conventional rudder system provided at the base and articulated through
crescent shaped plate by means of push pull rods.
Rukma is stated to reach speed up to 250 miles in 24 minutes, a speed of 725 miles per Hour. [1][4]
The Rukma vimana has the appearance of a beautiful hovercraft, being golden in color; it uses solar energy.
Propulsion energy systems derive energy from engine-driven
propellers, internal combustion, jet propulsion, mercury and solar
energy. [9]

sathishramyen | Every
scholar knows the Vaimanika Shastra, a collection of sketches the core
of which is attributed to Bharatvaj the Wise around the 4th century B.C.
The writings in the Vaimanika Shastra were rediscovered in 1875. The
text deals with the size and the most important parts of the various
flying machines. We learn how they steered, what special precautions had
to be taken on long flights, how the machines could be protected
against violent storms and lightning, how to make a forced landing and
even how to switch the drive to solar energy to make the fuel go
further. Bharatvaj refers to no fewer than 70 authorities and ten
experts of Indian air travel in antiquity! The description of
these machines in old Indian texts are amazingly precise. The difficulty
we are faced with today is basically that the texts mention various
metals and alloys which we cannot translate. We do not know what our
ancestors understood by them. In the Amarangasutradhara five flying
machines were originally built for the gods Brahma, Vishnu, Yama, Kuvera
and Indra. Later there were some additions.
Four
main types of flying Vimanas are described: Rukma, Sundara, Tripura and
Sakuna. The Rukma were conical in shape and dyed gold, whereas the
Sundata were like rockets and had a silver sheen. The Tripura were
three-storeyed and the Sakuna looked like birds. There were 113
subdivisions of these four main types that differed only in minor
details. The position and functioning of the solar energy collectors are
described in the Vaimanika Shastra. It says that eight tubes had to be
made of special glass absorbing the sun’s ray. A whole series of details
are listed, some of which we do not understand. The
Amaranganasutradhara even explains the drive, the controls and the fuel
for the flying machine. It says that quicksilver and ‘Rasa’ were used.
Unfortunately we do not yet know what “Rasa’ was. Ten sections deal
with uncannily topical themes such as pilot training, flight paths, the
individual parts of flying machines, as well as clothing for pilots and
passengers, and the food recommended for long flights. There was much
technical detail: the metals used, heat-absorbing metals and their
melting point, the propulsion units and various types of flying
machines. The information about metals used in construction name three
sorts, somala, soundaalika and mourthwika. If they were mixed in the
right proportions, the result was 16 kinds of heat-absorbing metals with
names like ushnambhara, ushnapaa, raajaamlatrit, etc. which cannot be
translated into English. The texts also explained how to clean metals,
the acids such as lemon or apple to be used and the correct mixture, the
right oils to work with and the correct temperature for them.
Seven
types of engine are described with the special functions for which they
are suited and the altitudes at which they work best. The catalogue is
not short of data about the size of the machines, which had storeys, nor
of their suitability for various purposes. This text is
recommended to all who doubt the existence of flying machines in
antiquity. The mindless cry that there were no such things would have to
fall silent in shame.
theguardian | An archaeologist has discovered liquid mercury at
the end of a tunnel beneath a Mexican pyramid, a finding that could
suggest the existence of a king’s tomb or a ritual chamber far below one
of the most ancient cities of the Americas.
Mexican
researcher Sergio Gómez announced on Friday that he had discovered
“large quantities” of liquid mercury in a chamber below the Pyramid of
the Feathered Serpent, the third largest pyramid of Teotihuacan, the
ruined city in central Mexico.
Gómez
has spent six years slowly excavating the tunnel, which was unsealed in
2003 after 1,800 years. Last November, Gómez and a team announced they
had found three chambers at the tunnel’s 300ft end, almost 60ft below the temple. Near the entrance of the chambers, they found a trove of strange artifacts: jade statues, jaguar remains, a box filled with carved shells and rubber balls.
Slowly working their way down the broad, dark and
deep corridor beneath the pyramid, battling humidity and now obliged to
wear protective gear against the dangers of mercury poisoning, Gómez and
his team are meticulously exploring the three chambers.
Mercury is toxic and capable of devastating
the human body through prolonged exposure; the liquid metal had no
apparent practical purpose for ancient Mesoamericans. But it has been
discovered at other sites. Rosemary Joyce, a professor of anthropology
at the University of California, Berkeley, said that archaeologists have
found mercury at three other sites around Central America.
Gómez speculated that the mercury could be a sign
that his team is close to uncovering the first royal tomb ever found in
Teotihuacan after decades of excavation – and centuries of mystery
surrounding the leadership of the cryptic but well-preserved city.
The
mercury may have symbolized an underworld river or lake, Gómez
postulated, an idea that resonated with Annabeth Headreck, a professor
at the University of Denver and the author of works on Teotihuacan and
Mesoamerican art.
The shimmering, reflective
qualities of liquid mercury may have resembled “an underworld river, not
that different from the river Styx,” Headrick said, “if only in the
concept that it’s the entrance to the supernatural world and the
entrance to the underworld.”
“Mirrors were
considered a way to look into the supernatural world, they were a way to
divine what might happen in the future,” she said. “It could be a sort
of river, albeit a pretty spectacular one.”
Joyce
said that archaeologists know that scintillation fascinated the ancient
people generally, and that the liquid mercury may have been regarded as
“somewhat magical … there for ritual purposes or symbolic purposes.”
Headrick
said that mercury was not the only object of fascination: “a lot of
ritual objects were made reflective with mica,” a sparkling mineral
likely imported to the region.
In 2013 archaeologists using a robot found metallic spheres
which they dubbed “disco balls” in an un-excavated portion of the
tunnel, near pyrite mirrors. “I wish I could understand all the things
these guys are finding down there,” Headrick said, “but it’s unique and
that’s why it’s hard.”
