federal employees don't have collective bargaining rights...,

Video - Barack Obama in Spartanburg, SC. Nov. 3rd, 2007.

"And understand this: If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I'm in the White House, I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America. Because workers deserve to know that somebody is standing in their corner."

Is anybody else wondering what the hell happened to the progressive candidate Obama? I am more than a little disappointed. I didn't vote for him because he was black.. I voted for him because I believed what he said. I can no longer even watch any of his speeches anymore. At best he is a straight up blue dog Democrat.. At worst he is the best Republican president we have ever had. If it's not good for corporations then he is not getting behind it... Period... I will vote for him over the insane Republican candidates we will most likely have.. But I will not get all excited and donate money, or believe any progressive/liberal promises. I probably won't even watch any of his campaign speeches in the next elections.

He even just extended the Patriot Act the other day.. Really?

Caveat Emptor.

During the campaign: He was a superior choice to his opponent (and predecessor).

Between the election and inauguration: The economy was dead in the water (with no real silver lining) and the US was fighting two wars off the books.

First two years: The Stimulus was a good idea, healthcare reform was a good idea. I appreciate his intellect and feel his age was a bonus.

Today: To make a twist on my favorite NFL post-game coaches comment, "He's not who I thought he was." There are days when I want him to say "Eff Ewe" to his political opponents and do the right thing, but he tends to only do that to his political allies.

To see him extend tax cuts to the wealthiest citizens while announcing cuts to programs that serve the poorest, to watch him initially oppose DADT and support DOMA, I will state emphatically today that he's going to have to do something to get my vote in 2012. Right now, I'm in the abstain column.

What, you don't view his role as smooth, polished, and globally affable cafe au'lait sales-rep for dopamine hegemony as a positive?

See I had my doubts looooooong before he was elected, because I was looking at the production team and the financial disclosures. But when this insatiably thirsty wench appeared on the scene; http://subrealism.blogspot.com/search?q=rogers
Not only did it become crystal clear exactly what the hon.bro.preznit is, it became equally clear that he was a tangible manifestation of the perpetual promise of the big house.
